Have any of you ever played with an ex-NHLer or even an AHLer in your beer leagues? Even the fringiest of fringe NHL players have another gear none of us can even dream of. John Scott would ruin any division 1 mens league hockey.
That said, since the all star game is played at a leisurely pace, there is no reason he couldn't play there.
Also, since the NHL is stupid to allow fan votes, I hope the fans vote troll the hell out of the NHL.
This makes me happy:
Spoiler!

It's an annual tradition at this point. The internet votes in an unlikely hero, and in an act of electoral fraud worthy of Mexico, the NHL "disappears" a few hundred thousand votes to make sure the people's hero doesn't get in.
Honestly, this is the only thing that will make me care enough to vote.
They need to start doing that with the amateur draft lottery.

The allstar game is stupid enough, why make it worse? Scott is unequivocally out of his depth against the best in the world. If I were him, I wouldn't even go if I was voted in. I would be so embarrassed considering he knows that people are only voting for him because he his a terrible hockey player. It's actually insulting to him if you think about it.
Also, who cares how Scott would fare in a beer league? Honestly, he would be more suited to that than playing in the NHL...
The allstar game is supposed to be a fun event. I think it's awesome fans are rallying to get a guy like John Scott in the allstar game. I voted for him. Who cares? The event is not meant to be taken seriously.

It would be glorious to watch John Scott in a 3 on 3 all star format.

The NHL won't allow it anyway so it's basically just a big waste of time. Even acknowledging that it is happening is rather pointless tbh.

Except that a huge number of players have contracts that contain bonus clauses for All Star appearances. Players that deserve to be there and are entitled to earn the money promised to them by their employers are being actively defrauded by this stupid system. I don't know about you, but the missed opportunity to receive a bonus for all my hard work at the expense of John friggin Scott is something that I would take pretty seriously.

Most of these stars making 7 to 10 million per year could probably do without the $90,000 bonus check from the All Star game that probably ends up being $30,000 after taxes anyway.
Player sit out all the time. Iggy did it to spend time with his grandma.

I have no issues with this. The league is kind of a joke anyways. It's not like the NHL didn't pull off the ultimate troll job with the 2015 draft lottery. If the NHL insists on being a joke league, might as well go all the way with it.

It's one player for each division. Those guys will get the money they "deserve".
These guys make way too much money as it is. I don't feel bad at all for some multi-millionaire missing out on $100k.
