Hiller cost us the game. We out played them for 50 minutes in regulation.

The top 6 line played amazing. Definitely seeing a 1-2 punch today that we desperately needed. All our defense played great. Hiller shouldn't have let the one goal before the incident in, hope he is okay however.

So Backlund with a pathetic back check on the second goal, glaringly and obvioiusly bad at the "end" of the second period.
Benched? Nope he gets a regular shift in the 3rd, with 7 shifts, just as many as he had in each of the first two periods.
Always earned, never given? Selective players I guess.
This is worse more than most, because it was so bad, and that's the kind of garbage play that has gotten the Flames in the position they are this year...battling for everything, squeezing the stick hard, and then, after all that team play, getting let down by a single player in something that was preventable by that lazy/casual player.

Lucky to get to Overtime to be honest, that last goal was a gift from the refs.

Hiller just hopes the puck hits him rather than read and react. He plays way too deep in his net. Just get rid of him already, he's not consistent enough.

Backlund has been super disappointing. 1 point in 10 games, terribly defensively this season. He's going to be 27 now, one of the vets. At the top of his game he does look like a solid 2-way center, but he's far too streaky and there seems to be more games like tonight where he looks like crap than when he's at the top of his game.

I hope this is the game that turns the season around. I think the team has belief now. Something we have lacked all season

Few things we did better, but still massive massive issues. Why on earth does Bollig still get ice time? The 6:17 he got tonight is still 6:17 too much. He literally adds nothing positive and his only contributions this season have been unneccessary and avoidable penalties. Waive and demote this useless waste of space already.
For all the talk about the impact Brodie would have, he was part of the total cluster f*** which resulted in 2 Sens goals. I mean, how we are defending at the moment is an embarrassment. Teams turn up against us not even at their best and they are still scoring bucket loads. We are supposed to have one of the best bluelines in the league, at the moment it's the worst. Not sure what on earth is up with them, but they need to sort it fast!
Good to see the offence get going/ Hopefully this is Bennett's breakout game in much the same way Gaudreau's was against the Jets early last season. I like Frolik, really solid addition.
Some players though, serious concerns. Backlund is invisble shift after shift. Sure, great, does his defensive work in his own end, but there has been virtually no contribution at the other end. Bottom end still not really adding much. Pretty ugly game for both sides. Got a point thanks to a penalty that for me never was. I'll take it, but not looking forward to the backlash the Habs will want to dish out on Friday.

Agreed, but the coach needs to pull him then. It was obvious early on that Hiller was going to be brutal tonight.
Russell out there in the final minute of the game and OT, yet he was awful tonight. Bennett was a beast, not one shift in OT. Hartley needs make better decisions.

Positives:
-We finally scored some goals!
-Sam freakin' Bennett.
-Johnny Hockey
-Solid game from Hamilton
-Got a point on the road.
Negatives:
-Goaltending continues to be atrocious.
-Defensive zone coverage still stinks.
-PP still stinks.
-The losing streak continues and we're still a bottom feeder.
Overall, not a bad game I guess. Baby steps.

Ryan put his shoulder into Hiller's head - that's a penalty every time

Glad Bennett got a couple points. Hopefully gets him going. We need a goalie though.

What Hiller thinks while goalie-ing
'be big, look big, dont move, hope it hits me, be big, dont move, wave my arms, go down but be big, dont move, wait, wait, look big, be big, stay back, back, big, dont move'
Ugh
I do hope the injury isnt serious.
