Take the positives and come home.
A bounce here or a bounce there and this is a totally different game.
Bennett entered beast mode and played his best game as a flame!

We looked pretty good, we scored some goals, but didn't the goaltending. Couple of the mistakes we make end up in the back of our net just like that. The guys must be so frustrated. Man, what a brutal start for this team.
Well I guess 1 point on the road is nice but with the way the Sens played that seemed like a very winnable game.
Judging by the game thread I imagine Hiller will get a ton of hate here. He was great, I will give him a 4/10, but the defensive effort was pathetic, 0/10. Hopefully if Brodie gets back to 100% the defense will improve but if teams are watching that game tonight I think the Wideman and Russell rumours will start dying down.

didn't see the game, but saying he was great, and giving him 4/10 contradict each other, that's a fail grade...
I...honestly don't know how to feel. That was the first game in a long time where I really felt neither team deserved to win. Ottawa gave up some really silly goals, but Hiller was just as bad at points. Defense is still a mess...don't know who's covering that for the Flames but there's a lot of work needed on that end.
1 point is good in that sort of situation but 2 felt attainable.
Glad Bennett got his first goal this year. Hopefully he'll start picking up momentum.

Hiller didn't make any clutch saves but the last three Senator goals the goal scorer was left to stand around the crease open. That simply can't happen and the coaches need to start preaching some structure in their own end as far too often it's a fire drill.
