People taking potshots at ricardow is becoming too common on this board for my tastes. He might not be the most polite poster on the board, but he's far from the worst and deserves better.
He's also a guy that actually tries to contribute, and thus IMO is an above average poster compared to many others who seem to mostly seem to come here to ridicule other posters.
Put him on ignore if you must, or actually respond to his posts.
Don't be a**holes.
Piling on the guy that stands out is just BS behavior in general.

On an Internet message board the only thing you can be judged on is the quality of your posts. Ricardo's posts lack quality, they don't seem to line up with reality and don't make sense. His posts beg to be ridiculed IMO. Ive long since given up on that, he's been on my ignore list for years. But if he wasn't I would feel the need to object to his "arguments".
I'd prefer everyone just put him on ignore but I totally understand why his posts are mocked and the major reason is because they lack reality, sense and logic.

I think we're off this year folks.
Sieloff, Ollas Mattson, Deblouw, Hathaway, and Kanzig should have already been picked!

Nah. Looks like a list of career AHLers to me.
Who would you rank any of these guys ahead of, and why?

I don't care about his politeness. Ricardow's posts typically aren't relevant at all to the threads he posts in. They go off on 50 different tangents and then he comes to a conclusion that's not related to anything he just said.
His posts kill brain cells and he should be ridiculed for it whenever appropriate.

They are more relevant to those threads than posts about him.

Sieloff reminds me of Cory Sarich in many ways. I'm still pulling for him to have a big year and get back on track.

In 155 games in the USHL, OHL, and AHL, Sieloff only has 22 points. His NHLE across those leagues and games translates to 4 points over an 82 game NHL schedule.
I can understand some Dmen will never score goals, but how is it that a capable Dman does not collect more secondary assists on his breakout passes alone? Making a solid 1st pass from deep in your own zone would result in more assists than Sieloff has managed. I think the answer is pretty obvious as to why he's not collecting more assists.

Goaltenders in the NHL are getting as many assists as Sieloff is in the minors/juniors. Think about that.

I went with Kanzig, because he has the highest ceiling. He could be the next Hal Gill (and for those of you who don't remember back when Hal Gill was awesome, that would be a really good thing for the Flames).
I give that about a 5% chance of happening, but that's a better chance than I'd give any of the other remaining players of becoming an impact player in the NHL.
Of the other guys, I think Hathaway, Gilmour, Ollas-Mattson, and Karnaukov, have some realistic NHL upside, but I'd be shocked if any of them turned out to be impact players.

Also went with Kanzig. I like Hathaway and I think he may eventually find a spot in our bottom 6, I just tend to lean towards defencemen.
Kanzig has a lot of other less obvious qualities than his size and truculence. Takes to a leadership role quite well, seems to be a good teammate, was played in all situations on the Hitmen. So basically Engelland jr, but bigger. If Kanzig can improve his skating and make a smart first pass instead of off the glass and out, he could be a good #7 going forward. I have faith he will with Calgary's coaching - even Engelland was playing better towards the end of the year and the playoffs whereas he was a pylon and Mr. Icing early in the season.

He's been on ignore forever, but when every post in the thread about voting for prospects is a response to something dumb he said about Ferland, it's hard to ignore.
His posts make no sense most of the time and derail far more threads than they contribute to.

Newsflash: complaining about him is not helping, it's contributing to that exact problem.
