The Boston Herald sharticle quotes an anonymous asst gm saying he doesn't know what the issue was, before running his mouth about what he'd heard. Hamilton, he'd heard somewhere maybe, is an "uppity kid." Ergo, had to go.
Gerbilism at its finest.
As far as I can tell the problem is that the Bruins, don't enjoy when a young player asks for money, find it offensive even. They'd rather ship the guy out and run him down afterwards.
I'd prefer if the thread title was re-named to " the potentially alleged homophobe, neo nazi Brooks suggests that...." It would in all likelihood be as founded as some of the dribble that he puts out.

There it is. Boston media does this with pretty much every guy that gets moved out. Brooks beat em to the punch this time.
We're glad to have this dressing room problem on our team now.
Here's some crap from the Boston Herald.
Quote:
“We didn’t want to lose him,” said one Bruins front office source. “We tried everything we could think of.”
As it was, the Hamilton deal didn’t look good — but may have had a secondary cause.
“It was surprising,” said one NHL assistant GM. “It’s obvious there’s something going on that we don’t know about. From what I’ve heard behind the scenes, his teammates don’t like him. I heard he’s a loner and sort of an uppity kid, and that his teammates don’t like him and it was unanimous.”
In that context, the deal makes more sense. Sources also said Hamilton exerted some control in the process, letting it be known which teams he would sign with and which he wouldn’t — maybe including Arizona, with which the B’s tried to trade up for the No. 3 pick.
There has literally never been any suggestion that Hamilton is anything but a great guy and a positive team contributor until now. This was a cap move.

yeah, he's a cancer in the dressing room like a boss!

I’m always amazed these sportscasters and announcers can call the game with McDavid’s **** in their mouths all the time.
The Flames have such a "team first" culture and when you think about how humble and modest our guys are from Gio to Brodie to Monahan to Gaudreau to Russell - that anyone coming into this locker room will quickly see what succeeds.
To be fair, that's pretty tame for Brooks, buried in a tidbit in the middle of an article ripping the Rangers.
Thus it's not even the usual Brooks click-bait, just random idlings of a negatively minded reporter trying to figure out/hypothesize like many are, what reasons could be for Boston selling Hamilton so low.
Meh, Carter and Richards were "Cancers" and they turned out just fine after being traded to other teams. If they were the issue, still means nothing. The leadership core in CGY is too strong. Hudler will chuck shoes at Hamilton if he gets out of line.
1. His GM of last season attempted to acquire him.
2. His GM of this season, by his admission, submitted a substantial contract offer
3. This still doesn't explain why Boston took a sub par offer. Clearly there was demand for this player.
This is a situation where Boston allowed themselves to get backed into a corner. They wanted a bridge deal but had the legitimate threat of an offer sheet so they had to either sign him to a big contract or move him. When the Arizona deal fell through they didn't have much time to make a deal involving this years draft picks. Calgary is the beneficiary and Boston media is stuck trying to explain the mess to one of the most emotional fan bases in NA sport.
