Bortuzzo stuck the knee out on Diaz. Should have been a penalty.

Couldn't agree more.
Engelland has been a godsend in Gio's absence. He really stepped it up more than anyone thought possible and has been reliable for the most part.
No problem with him going forward.

Pretty sure this solidifies Bennett coming straight to Calgary.
Adirondack's playoff hopes are likely finished, especially with Wotherspoon getting recalled. Farther the Flames go in the NHL playoffs, the more experience these prospects can get.
Please Hartley put Wotherspoon in the line-up! He won't be flashy in practice but he can play NHL minutes.

I also think the Flames will bring Bennett to Calgary instead of sending him to Addy.

The Flames have main concern is themselves. They'd like the AHL team to go to the playoffs, but their 7th d-man is more important than the AHL team making the playoffs.

I wonder if Douglas Murray is still around? Could just sign him (and not burn a callup), or, sign him to a AHL deal and help out our farm team.

Would much Rather Wotherspoon get slotted in over Potter. But this seasons been crazy IMO as to why Wotherspoon has not seen game action with the parent club. Who the hell knows what Hartley is going to do.

Unconditional applies un-earned..........thus back to my initial comment. Also, if your forgetting comment had merit (although I'm not sure what it is we are "forgetting") are we not simply talking about how he's been lately? Since Gio went down he's filled in admirably. No one is suggesting the Flames forgo any future goals of improving their D because now we have "Super Engelland", we are simply suggesting that comments like shoot the guy to the moon in a rocket ship and let Wotherspoon take all his minutes are ridiculous considering how the man is playing for us right now in this moment in time.

who is this we you keep referring to? weird.
anyways, my silly comment was just that, silly. Like your silly comment. You pulled the "I see a player differently so that means people cant watch hockey as well as I can" card which just made me laugh.

I've thought Engelland has been pretty decent from the start. He's been one of the only Flames who will drop the gloves and he provides much needed size and toughness on our back end. The thing for me is, he needs a mobile partner to play with to be most effective and Smid wasn't that guy.

The problem has never been Engelland. It's been the pairing. Paired with a mobile, puck moving defenceman, Engelland can be quite effective.

Really? I'll wait patiently for this to happen then.

Engelland has 7 points (2G 5A) since Gio went down. That translates to 34 points over a full season. TJ Brodie only posted 31 points last year. Despite only generating 4 points in the first 55 games, he is closing in on his career high of 17 points and is only one point off his second best tally, which he posted last year. He won't reach it obviously, but he has closed the gap significantly.
Over the past 17 games, he is also only a -1, but was a -14 in the 55 games prior.
To say that Engelland hasn't elevated his game or isn't a reason why the Flames are still in a playoff race are simply not seeing what he's doing because they have a bias towards him because they hate his contract. He has earned all 3 million of it in the last 17 games.

I like the idea of a Schlemko-Wotherspoon 3rd pairing.

Has Tyler ever played the right side? Might not be the time to be experimenting with him on his backhand?
