I don't think that is the case. Once playoffs begin we can call up anyone, plus Bennett hasn't been formally assigned to the AHL yet

According to a CBA quote that Getbak posted, Bennett can come straight to Calgary, bypassing the 4 call-up limit.
However, if he is sent to Adirondack first, the limit would then apply to him as well.
Just another reason to bring him straight here

The irrational hate for Engelland around here is really telling of some's ability to see what's actually going on on the ice, especially when it does to the D.

Strange that they called up Wotherspoon considering Adirondack is fighting for playoff spot themselves but I guess if Diaz injury is bad then it makes sense. With Flames using all their maximum call-ups I have to think Wotherspoon will be with Calgary for the duration of the season. I also think the Flames will bring Bennett to Calgary instead of sending him to Addy.
