There sure were a bunch of morning games, six of them to be exact and here is what happened.

The Rangers-Bruins game was a terrific Original Six game that was on NHL Network in the USA and on Sportsnet 360 in Canada. The Bruins won 4-2 with Milan Lucic scoring the first two goals of the game and Karl Soderberg getting two points. Henrik Lundqvist was back in net for the Rangers for the first time since his throat injury and he played the entire game. Tukka Rask did pull himself out of the Bruins net due to dehydration, Niklas Svedberg took over and stopped 16 of 18 shots to get credit for the win. The victory puts the Bruins back into eighth place, two points ahead of Ottawa. The loss was not a big deal for the Rangers as they officially clinched a playoff spot after Thursday's win.

The Ducks beat the slumping Islanders 3-2 in regulation time. Anaheim has now officially clinched a playoff spot and the win also puts the Ducks into first place overall. The Islanders are 2-6-2 in their past ten games.

The Predators have won their fourth game in a row defeating the Capitals 3-2 in regulation. The win helps Nashville clinch a playoff spot and puts them back into first place in the Central Division and one point behind the Ducks. Braden Holtby started in goal for the Capitals and lasted only fifteen minutes as he let in the first three goals on thirteen shots.

Another 3-2 regulation win here with the Penguins barely getting past the Coyotes. It was scoreless after two periods and all the goals came in the final period. Mike Smith faced 46 shots in the loss and Greiss was in net for Pittsburgh.

The Sharks win another game beating the Flyers 3-2 in the shootout. Steve Mason was the main reason the Flyers get a point as he faced 44 shots.

The Red Wings get a much needed win as they beat the Lightning 4-0. Mrazek gets the shutout win for Detroit and keeps comfortably ahead of the wildcard teams chasing them.

Dear hockey gods,

Please show this hardworking and non-tanking Flames team, made up of a group of warriors that lack divers, whiners and punks, some love.

Smite our enemies tonight.

Amen

No idea on the context.

But just turn on TV, Don is yelling that a team isn't giving the Canadian guys a chance and instead bringing in guys from Alaska, which is for shame!

Seems about right for Don.
