You should have hit him with it

its not very rare these days...thats the point

hoisting and drinking out of the cup used to be reserved for players that won it, even other NHL players wouldn't touch it

now any idiot can do it

Maybe it's not a big deal because these "idiots" only get to touch one of the replicas and the real cup is back in the vault.

So 'cool story bro' time:

My brother moved to a small town, Rosthern, SK a year ago and so this weekend I made a road trip out there to visit for the first time. Didn't know it, but just happened to be there the same day that Robyn Regehr brought the cup there - his hometown. I was able to take my wife and two young sons (one is age 2 and one is age 6 months) to say hi, shake his hand, and get a picture with Regehr and the Cup at the town hockey rink. That picture may end up in my sons' wedding slideshows someday, haha. Anyway, was a pretty cool experience.

Just a total fluke that we took a road trip out in the middle of butt-eff Saskatchewan and ended up meeting Robyn and getting pictures with the Cup.

And end story.

Aww frig. I was up at Christopher and Emma Lake until this afternoon. Had I known Regehr was in the area with the Cup I would have stalked him like a spider monkey.

I can picture the flight attendant, "Mr. Regehr, you are going have to place the Stanley Cup fully under the seat in front of you or in the overhead bin prior to take off".
