I think it's a 1#/starting goalie joke.

I thought about that too... I think 19 would suit Bennett well.

Nope. Now when he lights it up with #27, I can say I liked him before he was super awesome. I'll probably have to get a fedora, thick rimmed glasses without lenses and hang out in record stores, but still.
I think jerseys like Iginla's #24, and Sven's #47 are neat. Some of it is because of how long Iggy wore #12, and some of it is because of how what Iggy and Sven did when they were wearing their original numbers. You see a lot more Michael Jordan #23 jerseys than #45 jerseys, and yes, I get that's a completely different situation.
I still like my Sven #47 jersey, and likely wouldn't swap the 4 for a 2 if they offered to switch it for free, but I'm also not going out and getting a Mark Girodano #46 jersey. I might get a Gaudreau white #53 jersey since he wore it in his NHL debut and scored, but wouldn't get a red one, since he didn't wear a red one in a game with that number.

I'm glad the Flames wore the retro jerseys last year at least once, now I can get Monahan put on mine.

Um, is anyone else PO'ed that Brandon Bollig is wearing Nieuwendyk's #25?!!?
Forever a Flame is an embarrassment Ken King. Never should have went down that road.

Yeah, where is the Baertschi number change info coming from?
The link in the OP doesn't have him on the roster.

I justified my Gaudreau #53 in red because he was presented with one by the team when he signed. That and I wouldn't wear a white road jersey in the C of Red.
Not pissed about Sven switching because I guess I have a thing for the early NASCAR numbers too. Backlund #60 was a great call, the man himself even gave me props for it, but Horak #51 was a definite miss.

Isn't #25 Forever-A-Flamed?

Were you also upset at Dave Roche, Sergei Krivokrasov, Niklas Andersson, Igor Kravchuk, Martin Sonnenberg, Darren McCarty, David Moss, and Steve Begin wearing it since Nieuwy?

To be fair though Johnny Hockey could wear 53 this season, David Jones will still be wearing #54 as far as I can tell.

Well considering we had a huge ceremony for Nieuwy and raised his number to the rafters,
I would have assumed it was off the table for anyone to wear 25 again.
