With Tokarski playing so well I bet we could get Price from Montreal.
Then pick up Drouin from Tampa for Cammy's rights and we are set.

If we draft Draisaitl it would be cool to grab Greiss, another German, just because we can. Plus, Treliving knows how Greiss plays.

Same thing with Brodie. Extend him at 3.5, and Backlund at 2.5. Together, they should bring us 3 mln closer to the floor.
|
That won't help next season though. Those would be added the following season

Both of their current deals aren't up until 2016, so unfortunately that won't help us next season.
Edit: What he ^ said...

I wonder at what cost it would take to add Tokarski as a 1a/b option with Ramo?

There was talk that the team Calgary had a deal with at the trade deadline was Carolina, but that the Hurricanes could not get the third team part of the deal done in time. The player coming back to Calgary in terms of picking up salary for draft picks was to be Cam Ward.
There is still a big possibility that Ward is acquired at the draft.

Linus Ullmark is a player going back into the draft potentially that Buffalo has not signed. I think that he is the AHL goaltender next year behind Ortio.

Interesting, I also heard Burke say that Ward should be on Team Canada, so he thinks highly of him. Myself I don't think he's Team Canada quality anymore but he could fill a role here, if the price is right.

I'm sure the Flames will be able to find a decent UFA forward and defenseman (likely on a slight overpay), or perhaps be forced to get creative in trading for another team's (hopefully short-term) problem contract. Havlat would be a good example of this.
As for a backup, any of Stalock, Greiss, Johnson, Gustavsson, Montoya or Peters would be fine for me.

I would like Al Montoya to backup Ramo. Or Cam Ward.

I am just glad that Burke made the choice of keeping Joni in the AHL for another year. No need to rush the guy.

The only time that would make sense is right now.

How many games do you think Ramo plays next year? 60+? Or somewhere in the 30-50 range (i.e. like a 1A/1B). If it's the latter, I'm wondering if Ortio has any chance of winning a spot out of camp as a 1B?

I actually wouldn't mind seeing Dubnyk as a Flame. Just train all his greaser bad habits out of him and you might have yourselves a darn fine backup.
Maybe the mods could make a poll of all the free agent and possible available goalies going into next season to see who the most interest is in.

Assuming he's healthy all year, I expect him to play more than 50 but less than 60.

I don't think that there's any chance that Gaudreau, Granlund, Baertschi and Reinhart ALL make the team.
Two of them max, IMO.
UFAs and maybe a trade and the cap should be no problem.
As for goalies, I think they'll go after Reimer or Hiller or someone like that in the free agent market. Ortio needs to be in Glens Falls playing.

If you extend Giordano his cap hit wouldn't change until his extension kicked in.
I hate the cap floor. I want to see the rookies, not overpaid plugs like David Jones.
