Thank god it wasn't. The healing for this organization would never have happened with Grumpy Gus still around. Congrats to him for playing 1000 though.
You're the Where RU Chris O'Sullivan of Robyn Regehr.
No part of your hatred for him as a Flame has been rational.
Regehr was a warrior for the Flames, he continues to be a valuable contributor to an excellent team years after being cast off from Calgary, and, as evidenced by the continued failure of the team after he left, the "healing for this organization" had nothing to do with his departure. If anything, his "grumpiness" with the state of the team at the end of his tenure has proven to be justified.

In this video he talks about how Hemsky got his stick up and cross checked him in the throat one time and ever since then he always wanted to hit him hard every time they were on the ice together. Awesome.
Lol Scott Oake: "Do you think Hemsky still remembers it"
I just went to YouTube to re-watch Regehr and Hemsky.
First video that came up I had to watch just because of it's title. It's so hilarious
"Why Ales Hemsky Owns Robin Regehr"
Basically: Hemsky didn't actually die when Regehr hit him various times (several hits shown), Regehr had a confrontation with Corey Perry (not sure how that's relevant to the thesis) and Hemsky scored once with Regehr on the ice (they only show one goal).
Enjoy!

Huge Regher fan but I was worried during his last season in Buf that he was on his way out of the league. Glad he is being given the opportunity in LA to prove that isn't the case.
I hate "Forever a Flame" but it is perfect for a guy like Regher. Not good enough to get full jersey retirement, but deserves to be recognized in some way and have something at the dome/new arena for his time here

That's awesome! I had never heard that story.
Was always a huge Regehr fan. Was very sad to see him go.

I looked it up once and IIRC Hemsky scored exactly one even-strength goal against the Flames in all the years Regehr was here.

If you just watch the video and pay no attention to the words, it actually looks like a Robyn Regehr highlight video lol. The best part of that Ducks clip is that three Ducks jump Regehr and they still can't take him down.

Still hard to believe that Buffalo got more for rental Regehr than the Flames did for a signed one.
Regehr was fun to watch, great hitter.
I can't remember who said it (FDW?) but I remember at the time he was traded, I remember some people saying Butler would be paying dividends for years long after Regehr is a overpaid, useless pylon.

My wife still wears her Regehr jersey with pride to every game we go to. He made it against so many odds. Should have died in that car accident, he goes to camp and makes the team instead. Fantastic. Heart of a lion.
