3- She most likely motivated more women than she offended
4- LOL at comments like the kids need their mom. She isnt posing for playboy while the kids are being watched by a crack head. She is with her kids in the damn picture and who knows what else they do away from the camera!
At #4 that is the part where I get the most upset about actually - if she can find the time to go to the gym, to have some 'me' time, that is fantastic. That is what keeps people physically and mentally healthy. Do they expect her to be around her kids every minute of every day? Not only is it not realistic, she would get tired or burnt out within a few months. To criticize someone for going to the gym is obscene.

I am sure that their kids will appreciate the fact that they are being raised in a family environment that promotes healthy lifestyles and exercise. I admit that this isn't possible for everyone but for the majority of people there is an aspect of laziness involved, because it is tough and it isn't as immediately gratifying as food and tv.

I think it's a good example of how you express yourself on the internet might generate a negative reaction. Personally, I don't think she meant to offend anyone...but obviously she did.

That's great, really, it is. But that doesn't change the fact that her attitude is pretty bitchy.

My wife is completely maxed out by my daughter. If she was still carrying baby weight and saw that she'd just fall apart.

Not necessarily...I can see where some could see this as verging on "fat shaming". Granted, I agree they are probably being oversensitive and insecure about their own ability to keep the weight off.

Her attitude is inspiring? Not really. The reason she looks the way she does involves unique circumstances to her. She's a fitness trainer who happens to have a lot of free time to work on her body. She however applies "What's Your Excuse" as a blanket statement that everyone who doesn't shape up like her must be lazy.

Does she look great for having 3 kids? You bet. Is everyone's circumstances like her? Definitely not.

She's not a personal trainer though.

I misread fitness enthusiast somehow as fitness trainer as well, I assume you did something similar. But she isn't one.

Speaking as a burgeoning fatty, I need some shaming, so good for her.

I have no issue with that and 32 years old is when a lot of women hit a steep decline. I don't think it's realistic for the average women to be able to be in that type of shape but unless you have a condition there's no excuse to be obese. I just saw three young girls with rather large cabooses at Tim's each getting those garbage egg & sausage sandwiches and timbits for breakfast. If that's what they like to eat good on them but that's the type of person that should not be criticizing this woman.

By this logic we should be freaking out at the Everest College guy for telling me its as easy as "making the call" "Make the call, are you calling yet? Make the call!"

He doesn't take into account some don't have the time or money for school. Some didn't perform well enough in their younger years. And he has the audacity to tell me all I have to do is make a call! Doosh.

The 'What's Your Excuse' thing is meant to inspire & push people to exercise. Not to insult.

Quote:
I wanted to inspire people,” she explains, adding that the “What’s your excuse?” part was simply a borrowed, popular phrase that’s been used in various “fitspiration” campaigns. “I wanted to say, ‘I know you think you don’t have time if you have kids. But if I can do it, you can do it, too.
If people take 'What's Your Excuse' as insulting or bullying, it's their problem.

Hopefully this starts a new movement where this whole "Your fat body is so beautiful!!" goes away. It's bs, has always been bs, and it's about time someone starts calling people out for it.

Three and a half years ago I made a choice to eat right and excercise 4 times a week, and within 6 months I was in probably the best shape of my life. A year ago I stopped doing that, and I look like a fat slob again, and have nothing but myself to blame. And no, my body is not beautiful.

All one needs to do is look back 30 years, and being obese was the exception, not the norm. Until people realize stuffing their faces with McDonalds, and processed food is the answer, they will have these self consoling pity parties trying to rationalize their terrible eating and exercise habits. Myself included.

Good on her.

The part of this that I find funniest is the person who got all pissy and said "My excuse is fibrymialgia" (probably spelled wrong, I don't want to look it up).

Okay, great, you can't work out becasue you are in pain.
Does that preclude you frome eating a balanced and heathy diet?
Yes you have a condition that makes it impossible to look like her, but that doesn't mean you can't live a healty lifestyle.

Another thing that I think is kind of funny is the fact that people can't see the other side of this.
What if she means what's your excuse to get in shape?
Her's is her kids. Living an active lifestyle is inportant for your children, and she wants to share as much time as she can with them.

People who use having kids as an excuse to start leading an unheatlhy lifestlye are looking at life a litte backwards, if you ask me.
