Last years definitely wasn't, Daly looked like he was going to have an aneurysm. I still think the Crosby lottery was sketchy.

I'm going to do something a little different.

I'm no longer going to be superstitious. Instead of performing my daily ritual and sacrifice to the hockey gods, they can shove it.

No more putting my right sock on before my left sock. No more taking the longer route.

You'll get nothing, hockey gods, until you prove your existence and give us Nathan MacKinnon.

Does anyone know where the Oilers are having their draft lottery party this year?

Want to get good seats.

I'll lose my mind...

But we're due for a lucky break. Just the fact that we've never pick top 5, let alone #1. We're so due for this. And I'd love nothing more than to see the faces on all of those GMs to see their tank-jobs take a hit, bumping them all down.

Mine is telling me the Oilers are winning.

Should I get mine checked by a doctor?

Sort of glad Feaster won't be at the draft lottery on Friday, since we're picking in the 6 hole. I don't want our management team to become like the Oilers and show up come lottery day with big grins on their faces. They better not forget what led them to this point like seemingly every other incompetent management team does.

Surprise surprise, international hockey fans are screwed again and won't be able to watch the lottery draw until after the event, if at all, when we know the result.

Geez when are the NHL going to wake up and realise that hockey fans outside of NA are also interested in the draft and the lottery for the #1 pick etc.

Definitely. It might be infected if it's telling you Oilers.

We're totally winning this one. Top 5 pick is waaaaay overdue for the Flames.

If the Flames win, I will be happy.
If the Flames don't win, I will be content.
If the Oilers win, I will foam from the mouth out of anger.

Any scenario other than the Oilers winning will be ok

Just had to add an extra line. Boy I'd be pretty pissed if we got pushed down another spot.

It mentions that Daly will reveal the results in reverse order. Since teams can only move up to the first spot, isn't that anti-climactic?

With the 14th pick... Columbus
With the 13th pick... Winnipeg
With the 12th pick... Philadelphia -- BOOM! Phoenix jumps for joy.

Why bother announcing the remaining picks?

In the past, they've only announced the top 5.

If he announces that Carolina has the #5 pick, then we'll know that one of the top 4 teams won the lottery, and every fan of the teams not in the top 4 can turn off their TVs. The other fans can stay tuned in until either their team's name is announced in the position it should be (meaning they didn't win), or not announced (meaning they won, and the rest of the announcements are moot).

If he announces Nashville has the #5 pick, then we'll know that one of the 5-14 teams won the lottery and they'll still waste everyone's time by announcing that Tampa will pick #4; Colorado will pick #3; and Florida will pick #2, before actually telling people what they want to know.

Either way, it's a stupid waste of a half hour of tv time for something that can just be announced in a tweet. I don't know why anyone would actually watch the whole show when the only important moment will happen with about 30 seconds left.

would Seth Jones fix the Phoenix franchise?

Pittsburgh was a failing franchise when they won the Crosby Lottery.

Maybe Phoenix cashes in on their 1 in 100 chance for the good of the league.
