not the best player in the league (Bolland) but the most exciting when he is on his game. This is good for hockey.

Oh god, this again? Ovechkin is pretty awesome and if we could have him I'd take him in a heartbeat. With that said, mind you, Crosby is truly a player who makes everyone around him better. Everyone. Ovechkin can't say the same.

Good on ya Ovi, keep scoring goals and getting those fans excited.

Good. A dynamic player like Ovechkin scoring goals is exactly what the league needs. As much as I like Stamkos...hes boring. (I mean boring in a way that average to non existent hockey watchers would view him.)

Stamkos is boring only because he plays in a non traditional hockey market where he doesn't get the exposure he deserves. Put him in the northeast or in Canada and I guarantee you people would pay attention to him.

It doesn't matter unless you think that Chris Dingman is better player than Jarome Iginla.

Seriously speaking, it was Malkin, who was playoff MVP when Crosby won the Cup. So you can't honestly say that Crosby>Ovechkin based on the Cup (you still can argue it based on other factors).

Haha. I can admit to recognizing the differences here if you can admit to seeing the irony.*

Absolutely. A quality center is multiple times more important in limiting overall team defensive transgressions than any winger. He would be great on this ... um... strike that. Ha.

Chris Clark had 30 goals season playing with Ovechkin.

Still, Crosby is playmaking center, it is his job to make everyone around him better. Ovechkin is scoring winger, his job is to score, not to make others better.

Crosby is making 25 goal wingers into 40 goal wingers and guys near the top of the scoring race.

Iggy in his prime made Conroy and Langkow 70 plus point guys.

And somehow when Gretzky was on LA Bernie Nicholls scored 70 goals.

Slight aside, but that is pretty interesting

Considering he had 2 goals in his first 10 games I would say he has found more than his mojo.
New coach & a new fiance could easily be to blame. The caps are my favorite team outside of the flames simply for Ovis entertainment value.
Comparing 87 & 8 is a pointless debate and one that will carry on for years. Even as Ovis biggest supporter I take Crosby going into game 7. That said I take Ovi as my franchise player (with the ability to know what we know now) as Crosby's career may be coming to a end being the injury prone guy he is. Ovechkin can go 1 on 1 for a full series with Chara and Lucic without missing a shift.

So you're glad that the best player in the game is possibly a headshot away from being too messed up to play hockey? You wanna re-think that stupidity or just go with it?
