In the story, it says he stopped it halfway through and then decided to let it finish. That makes it seem like it wasn't the video he meant to show them, or that it got a lot more graphic than he thought it was. Either way, he should have watched it himself before showing the class.
I wonder why he was showing it to them in the first place? If they were discussing parody as a literary device, he may have chosen to show it as a modern example. The only problem with that is that a bunch of 12 year-olds would have never seen the type of cheesy, poorly produced workplace videos that are being parodied in the video, so it doesn't make sense to choose that video as an example for a grade 7 class.
Funny video, poor judgement by the teacher.

This is what I think happened.
Lazy teacher, who was more worried about drawing up Basketball practice plays (he is the b-ball coach at the school btw.) needed some quick curriculum for the class. Searches youtube for sexual harassment video looking for something quick (this is the first video that comes up in the search cue.) "Oh, first hit, must be legit" he thinks. Total noob mistake. Plays the first 30 seconds, and you have to admit, it looks pretty early 90's legit, not realizing it is a spoof, and it totally starts to unravel into inappropriate hilarity about a minute in. Hits play for his students, and has a total WTF moment, and now has a classroom full of 12 year old boys making #### rubbing together, and fresh vagina jokes.
Yeah, it kinda sucks for the innocent kids in that class, but honestly, at 12 I had already seen hardcore porn (25 years ago), and most 12 or 13 year old boys have seen far worse than that. It could have been way worse, and I am sure the kids will recover.
Maybe write the guy up, but I don't think he should lose his job. He got trolled by his own stupidity by the looks of it.

Yeah as a boy at 13 I had seen porn, adult magazines as had most of my friends... This was without access to the internet when you had to go rent a porn video and buy porn magazines.
Can't even imagine how it is today for young boys, lucky sobs.

I bet that's exactly what happened. Innocent mistake, but completely lazy, and that's what happens when you try to mail it in. The only problem for him is where he's teaching; St. Albert has more helicopter parents than your average locale. If some parents want to make a big enough deal out of it (which I could totally see happening in "The Bubble", as its called), I could see this ending badly for him.

I'm sure most of the kids have seen worse, but that's absolutely stupid on the part of the teacher to show that video to the class. I'd be pretty angry if my kid was in that class. Largely because it was a waste of time that served no educational purpose. If this idiot doesn't get fired, it shows how incompetent you have to be to lose your job.
