I thought there was an Ignore function. Why not just report the post, put them on ignore, then go on as if they didn't exist?

Try that then read an OOT thread where 60% of the comments are hidden.

The ignore feature on this site isn't that great. If it was a feature like facebooks where they are actually blocked then I'd use it. But whenever a Canuck fan says anything and is quoted then there post gets shown even if you do have them on ignore.

Why not? It's just a thread. I think it would solve a lot of the problems that happen in OOT threads.

Agreed on that we don't need to attract any more of them. If it was up to me I'd ban all Canuck fans except Blaster86. He can stay. We always need someone to point out who a troll is and who isn't.

Because this a Flames message board. It's not our responsibility to cater to a fanbase who comes here solely to troll our team. I come to this board because I'm primarily concerned with Calgary Flames hockey. There are numerous other boards that are designed with the intention of having an NHL-wide discussion.

I guess this is what I don't understand about the Canucks fans who come here. If you track them to their home boards you find that they spend most of their mocking the members and discussions on this board. So if they find the quality of discussion on this board so low, and the board isn't designed to cater to that fanbase, then why are they here?

There seems to be a misconception that fans decide what or who is acceptable. Nope. The people who own the board do - it's their board, it's their call how it should be run and what and whom it should contain. The rest of us are just knobs with keyboards who can accept it and stay, or move on.

Without us 'knobs' this forum is a lot of images and fancy lay out with no users and means a lot of nothing

I remember that someone found a way to prevent seeing those quotes as well. I think it was HOOT, maybe ping him a PM.

Someone quote this so puckluck sees it.

The key point in photon's post is talk hockey.

That doesn't mean that they want Canuck trolls coming here and filling up threads with their garbage posts which at least 95% of Canuck posters do.

It was more they'd go back to their boards and complain about the mods not being even-handed and how off-base fans here were (true in some cases). In most of the cases they were banned for already being banned, so while the even-handed comments could have had a case at one point in time, when you get banned for being an alt-id you can't really say you didn't break the rules.

There was one guy who was going to CDC and HFboards trying to get some sort of troll army or something, but there weren't many receptive to it. Most people have better things to do that troll a message board because some kid is butt-hurt over getting banned.

I would thank your post, but I don't want to get the HIV.

Merely replying to my posts is enough to contract e-HIV.

Enjoy your e-AIDS

It took me like 2 years to signup to this forum because at the time everyone was critical of post quality and both the mods and other posters stepped up to point the finger. Now it seems like its just a #### show at times. The quality of the posts has gone significantly down as well as the elitest attitude that the forum posters seemed to have when the site quality was amazing
