I haven't lived in Calgary for 5 years now, so I'm not sure if they're still open, but I always enjoyed Vagabondo's for Italian.

I haven't been out for Italian in Calgary for a long time, but if I can get proper lasagna in a Mario Batali owned restaurant for under $20 I would hope there's somewhere in Calgary that can do it. Although food does seem to be exorbitantly expensive in Calgary.

My girlfriend makes the best lasagna I've ever tasted. She makes what she calls a deep dish lasagna, and it's about 3" thick. It's huge! Usually full after one piece.

Van Gogh Bar and Grill located up in the community of Valley Ridge makes a bloody great lasagna, and the portion is massive, which is also nice. I would highly recommend that place and not just for the lasagna, they make alot of really great food.

lol, i have to laugh at this

do you seriously think one of the highest profiled italian chefs in the world would offer lasagna at $20 a plate?

We'd be lucky if he opened a restaurant in Calgary

I do, because I've had it on multiple occasions.

Verona Pizza has great fast food lasagna. Add one of their slices of pizza on top and it will blow your mind!

I don't like how Sunterra loads everything with lots of spinach.

Hmm. Was it heavily laden with spinach? We used to order trays in for lunch meetings sometimes, and I couldn't get enough. I like spinach though, so if there was more than a reasonable amount, I wouldn't mind.

Otherwise it is a well-made lasagna with the perfect layering and melted mozza on top, nicely crispified.
