I really want nothing to do with Bennett for Puljujarvi. Bennett had actually looked like a good player at times in his career where that hasn’t been the case for Jesse. Bennett would likely be a nice fit with McDavid and also brings a physical edge which we do not need to gift them in this heated rivalry. I suppose there is a chance Puljujarvi could be a great fit with Monahan and Gaudreau but I have serious doubts.

Flames should try and send Bennett to a team outside of the Canadian or Pacific division unless they clearly win the trade. Pieces like Puljujarvi or Virtanen are not worth the risk in my opinion.

HA HA HA they're pairing Bouchard with Russell tonight. I mean how can it get anyworse, pairing him with an over the hill weak on the boards poor decision making defensemen that causes him to have to block shots.

Oh wait there really isn't a blueliner on Edmonton that can probably backfill for Bouchard.

Well they are playing the Senators so for Bouchard the challenge will be no greater than playing an AHL team.

Looking at that Ottawa game, it was really lopsided to the sens in 5v5. The Oilers got a ton of powerplays from the refs and capitalized on a weak sens penalty kill. If the Sens can stay out of the box, there's no reason why this game isn't winnable.

If I'm coaching against the Oilers I tell everyone to take it wide on Bouchard since his skating is gross and his turning is gross.

Puljujarvi already had the game of his life this year, so he's a pass for me.

whats the over under on a stutzle highlight reel goal due to this. What a classic Oilers blunder; bring in the hyped up rookie and throw him to the hungry sharks with an anvil strapped to his ankles.

So is James Neal hurt, or is he a healthy scratch? Lol, didn't he have 2 goals against the Sens?

Where was Bouchard playing last season?
I feel like I've heard almost nothing about him following his draft.

He played his rookie pro season in Bakersfield, sporting 7 goals, 36 points and a minus-10 through 54 games.

In the Fall he played for Sodertalje in the Allsvensken—the Swedish Div. I hockey league.

Prayers be to Bouchard, having to already be slotted on the 2nd pairing with defensive stud Kris Russell

That's good offensive numbers for the AHL as a defenseman. I'm assuming, based on comments here and from his draft profile, he hasn't got any more fleet of foot? More of a pp specialist?

He did get 76 penalty minutes in 23 games which would be numbers that would make Dave Semenko blush. Maybe the Oilers asked him to work on his gooning skills in Sweden.

Had to go look at tonight's lineup...

Nurse - Barrie (lol)
Lagesson - Larsson
Russell - Bouchard

So yeah, you can make certainly make the case that Russell - Bouchard is their 2nd pair because it is no worse than Lagesson-Larsson

That D is... beyond believe

I wonder if we'll get through a game where Larsson stays on his feet. Or will he continue to flop to the ice every time the puck is in their zone?

You don't need to answer that.
