I'm not sure if they have to play to get a medal, but both Canadian teams have used their fifth players during the round robin. Kristie Moore is now believed to be the third pregnant woman to compete in the Olympics. They will receive medals along with their teams.

There's no spygate in curling

The ultimate boring TV sport and you are closer to the mark.
I just cant get into watching people play shuffleboard on tv. Especially calling it an olympic sport. But there goes that debate again. lol.

With the way some of these curlers looked, I'm guessing there will be a whole whack of pregnant chicks pretty soon.

It's a pretty strategic/cerebral sport and if you've never played it I think it might be tough to get into. It gets a bad rep for not requiring "athletes". While it doesn't typically require the same fitness level as a number of event, the front ends of the top teams are pretty damn fit and strong.
It is a way better sport on TV than live though. The commentators are required.
Wooohooo Suomi!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Apparently losing to Canada in curling does the same. Quite the miss in the 6th to put Martin up 6-1.
When is the gold medal ceremony for women's two-man bobsleigh?

I couldn't find an exact time, but I believe the medal ceremonies are usually just after 8 our time. Hopefully someone can find an exact time.

6-3 Martin heading to the 10th end and he has the hammer. Looking good for another gold medal game to come.

Canada guarenteed at least 3 Silvers with the womens hockey and curling and the mens curling...hopefully those are 3 gold.

I think they get it, I know someone mentioned that the Mens hockey team dressed Fleury as a backup for the Swiss game because he needed to dress for 1 game to get a potential medal
I would assume its the same for 5th players in curling

Anyone know if a Canadian team wins a gold if its $20000 for each member of the team or do they have to split up $20000 between them?

I don;t know what other countries have left as far as medal hopefuls, but we have an excellent chance at 4 more golds, that gotta put us in a pretty good lead.

I don't think Germany has any real top contenders left. The US is always a threat, and I think Norway has only mens curling as a real gold medal chance. It might well be between us and the Americans for most gold.
Speaking of which, the mens aerials final is about to start. (in an hour... damned pacific time zone)

I don't know much about mens aerials or dual GS snowboarding but I do know we have medal contenders in both and there are a bunch of short track speed skating events and 1 women's long track event so I would say we have an excellent chance at more than 4 gold medals.
Oh, and 4 man bobsleigh as well...

Ice hockey x2
Curling x2
Women's long track team relay (#1 in the world this season)
Men's 500m short track (#1 and #2 in the world this season)
Men's parallel giant slalom snowboarding
Plus decent chances in men's aerials (world #1 didn't qualify for finals) and Men's short and long track relays (better chance in short track).
Basically if we win the women's ice hockey gold (and are up 2-0 in the 3rd now) we'll win the gold medal race. The US has maybe 1-3 good gold medal contenders left and that includes women's hockey.

US has a few more medal shots: both slalom events, men's hockey, bobsleigh (ranked #1 in the world right now), ST 500 (Ohno) and relay, men's team pursuit (one WC win this year, which is more than Canada). It's pretty much even between Canada and US in terms of chances remaining.
