generally, that is how it works, but if you blank an end, or the other team steals, then you retain the hammer

If a team steals a point you retain the hammer (if the other team scored when you have the hammer) or if there is a blank the hammer is retained

CANADA wins 6-5. Pretty close at the end.

Simplest explanation is that the last team to score throws first.

at least a silver for the Canadian women

Canada v. Sweden for the gold. Canada has already defeated the Swedes once, 6-2

You could see the anguish on the Swiss curler's faces. Feel bad for their skip... she blew relatively easy shots in both 8 and 10 that really undid their chances.

Great job Cheryl - at least a silver for our women curlers. One more game to go for the gold!

Now Martin can wipe the ice with the Swedes later and we'll have both groups in the gold medal games.

I guess you didn't know they were going to show all 34 skaters though.
I underestimate how long frigging figure skating takes. Why does it take over 4.5 hours for 30 skaters to skate?

Great first international tournament for Cheryl. The Swedes will be tough. They have plenty of experience in international tournaments.

Man, I'm pretty surprised with how Canada won the game. Pretty lucky roll to have it end right there. Crazy ending!

even if the Swiss tied the game, the Canadians would have had the hammer in the 11th and been in good shape

Curling is the ultimate tv sport. Get a bunch of people watching and they start pointing at the tv, 'do this, no do that'...

Everything fair.. you can hear the strategy.

There's no spygate in curling

Does the Canadian fifth get a medal or does she actually have to play an end to qualify? Anyone know?

Finland just scored a pretty nice goal in the women's bronze game. Somewhat repsectable.

Even the Swedish women are divers. Man. You can be four feet away, and the ref still falls for it every time.

Sweden evened it up with the most blatant dive in the tournament. Finland has been way stronger 5-on-5.
