I am slowly going blind. Two of the best specialists in the city are mystified by it, and they can't think of anything to stop it – though they are trying to slow it down. (One of them said he could count on his fingers the number of similar cases he has seen in his career.) I've already had to give up driving, and I dread what may come next.

Sorry to hear. We probably all do the same thing; it's good to come on here and read about hockey to get our minds off other things.

So cringey. Like seeing a guy keep pressuring a girl in a bar to give him her number and she keeps politely saying no… no matter how many times he says “M’lady”.
You know what he wants to say to that question of “can you you think of a reason not to stay?” He wants to say “Yeah - you.”

So predictable. My guess is that he leaves and blames Edmonton media like Larsson did.

Not sure how Oiler fans hear that and think he is 100% staying. Zero chance he says naw Im out in a day like today. When he doesnt sign on monday we will know he is keeping his options open.
Tkachuk was very interested in staying on locker cleanout day too

As was Johnny. Either way it is a win win for Flames fans. He either leaves or they sign him to a contract that will further cripple the franchise down the road.

i hope they sign him actually. Bouch Bomb and Nurse combining for 20 million . Mcdavid and Leon combining for 30 million. how is that not a recipe for success.

I just watched the interview with Pissy, and TBQH, he is visibly pissed but at least he didn't say pissy stuff, and that guy keep pushing and pushing, I'm surprised Pissy didn't just snap and say something like "It has been asked and answer".

It's ok to be that guy. I've only seen the shortened clip.
"The fans"... a close second to long days. It took him quite a long time to come up with an answer.

Oh totally. It's still hilarious that the first thing he jumped to was attributed to - latitude. Nothing about the actual city itself jumped to his mind first.

Oilers fans are very much aware that this is Drai's last year. They may say otherwise, but they Cup or Bust is a very real statement this year.
They are admittedly willing to sell the farm to move big contracts and to acquire top free agents to give it all one last run

But they've already sold the farm, and don't have enough money to acquire any top free agents. They can try, I suppose, but I just don't see how they will put together a team as good as this year's – which needed all kinds of luck just to put on a Cinderella run.

Jesus. I'm sure it's been covered in this thread already. But just saw the headline. Knoblauch:"Mcdavid and Draisatl both battled injury". Like. No #### Sherlock. Same with every other single player in the playoffs. These ####ing clowns truly believe they are special and the only ones hurt after a long season. How about Bennett's knee after Foegle destroyed it with his cheap shot? Or Barkov's jaw after Leon's flying elbow? These ####ing clowns are shameless with there excuses.

If Demko isn't battling injury the Oilers possibly don't even make it out of the second round.
They act like they're the only team that deals with it which is even funnier because they had to be the healthiest team in the regular season.
edit: forgot Boeser missed game 7 too and their powerplay which looked the best against the Oilers out of any team missed him then 0/3 game 7.

Serious question. Is Spector allowed to be fired? You're telling me there isn't a better journalist in Edmonton than what this guy has to offer between this and the Draisaitl question earlier today?

Guarantee they pull a Vegas next season and have conveniently-timed injuries a la Stone so the Mctwits will be all fresh and ready.

These Edmonton media guys are out of their minds. Draisaitl would be leaving at least 10M on the table to stay in EDMONTON on this Staples proposed deal and McDavid can get 17.6M on a max contract anywhere he wants to play.
These guys gave everything they had to give the Oilers a cup and their management failed them. They don't owe the city / fans and especially the media anything else. Not to mention, McDavid is engaged and Draisaitl has been with the same person for 6 years.. they have a say.
My prediction? They both walk for nothing and we're back laughing at how the Oilers are worse than us well before the new arena opens.

Desharnais isn't that good and wouldn't make more than maybe a dozen NHL teams. He is like a 6/7 at best. He will get an NHL contract because teams still need those kinds of depth players, but he makes it sound like Desharnais is some star player.
