Oh, it was just an innocent misunderstanding. My apologies. I thought you were knowingly trying to take players from our team.
Edit: HAHA- the replies to this thread are now 360! That's irony!

Thanks, Dobbles. I'll look for that tonight. I see I'll be playing with competitive guys that hate to lose. Good.

I can't believe it... after not fairing so hot in the first couple of games, played in a game last night where we blanked our opponants 3-0. Goal and assist for this guy, my first in the EASHL.
We out shot the other team something like 30-8.
I love that when we signed up, I heard someone on their headset say 'uh oh, jamieson...', like I was someone to watch out for.

I have a rather entertaining story that I'd like to share:
So last night I get home from work, prepare some dinner and jump into a quick game before the wife gets home. Three of us get to the jersey select screen and this team of 5 guys just begins to rage. "These are the ******* ******* that just quit on us!" I tell them in a calm, reassuring voice that there are upwards of 40 players on the team and that the EA servers are spotty at best. Any disconnect was most likely bad timing and most certainly not us as we'd just arrived. Judging by the flurry of profanity that followed aimed at myself and my mother, I don't think they really believed me. The verbal beating continued as we entered our game. For some reason they thought I was a homosexual. Frankly I don't think they had enough information about me personally to make this claim, but they seemed pretty damn certain!
Various strategies went through my head about how to best beat this team. Perhaps we could utilize our cpu players to set up some one-timers in the slot? Maybe I could stay back more and force them to make the mistakes? In the end we decided to travel the most satisfying path: we let the game start and all disconnected. It was pretty awesome.

I'm surprised none of you have used the Steve Armitage board during the setup screens to razz the other team. There are certainly enough EDM and VAN teams in Div 1.

Do opposition just purposely dump it in on him though? After a while I found that nobody wanted a ticket on the "tunnel of death" and would either immediately pass to the guy in the slot once they entered the zone, or try to dump it in.

lol, the smart ones do. We played a team that had 2 shots after 2 periods. It was incredible. I was just following him around picking up the loose pucks from the resulting carnage.

Hey guys... just a question that I looked for but couldn't find the answer. Didn't quite go through all 19 pages, or look all over the awesome website Dobbles set up... but...
What's the perfered method to get games going. I don't have internet access (other than the browser on the PS3) around my TV so I don't get those chat rooms, but I've randomly shown up into the 'dressing room' and tried to get into games.
Are games set up in chat rooms before hand? Do people do the same, and just hope there's other people in the room when you show up? Do people get pissed off if random CPers just show up to play?
I just want to make sure I'm doing the right thing by the team. Realistically, I don't think there's anything wrong with what I'm doing, but I don't want to piss people off either. I've also shown up and no one else is in there, and I think it randomly puts you on another team sometimes to fill out a roster.
And who the heck is the guy who is like 5 foot, 100 lbs, and looks like Hulk Hogan after being in a tanning bed for 5 hours? Frick that guy could fly. It's cause of him, I adjusted my ratings and equipment to get more speed into my skates, and a quicker wrist shot. Still have to work on aiming, cause it's manual aim... as far as I know.
It's been fun representing CP regardless... It's like a little piece of Heckle every time I play
PS - I've changed my number to 0 ('zero'), if you want to change that on the website Dobbles... (keep up the awesome work!)

Yeah, the chat room on www.cpfatas.com is where we announce our intent to start a game! Just showing up in the dressing room is really hit or miss, otherwise.

during the evening if youre alone in the dressing room, it probably means that theres atleast one game going on already
EASHL club play requires atleast 2 players for a club game, so once your in the dressing room, just wait for atleast one other player to show up and you have the option of starting a game or waiting for more people to get back in
for myself, I just go straight to the dressing room and wait until people show up, dont think ve been in teh team chat room
you can chat in the dressing room as well by pressing the square button, and itll bring up a soft keyboard...you can also use a USB keyboard if you have one, but still need to press the square

No method to getting games going. With 35+ guys on the team, it's pretty much luck of the draw on most nights on who you're going to be playing with. You can sort of adjust who you are playing with by leaving the dressing room and re-entering, or delaying how long you leave an actual match. Then you'll go back to the least populated room I think.
The only 5 foot guy with the blond dreds that I've played with is Impresso. He's a good guy to get an outlet pass to.

yeah, i think the website is merely a vehicle to prevent people from having to wait in the DR alone for hours at a time... Since the ps3 and ea network are both pretty crappy for communication, its an external way to communicate. then we have an idea who is in game and about to finish, or who might be going to change their player attributes real quick. just allows for better coordination. and generally there is at least 1 person in each game on the site, so we can keep track of whos doing what, how many people are in each game, etc.
the only time we really have to coordinate is when we have more than 6 online, and people want to have specific players on a team. for instance, if i wanted to play on igitangs team, and there are 8 people online, we might be put in different dressing rooms. so sometimes we will try to coordinate who is on which team and stuff.
but you are by all means welcomed to jump in at any time. the website isn't required. just there to be helpful. gives a lot of us somethign to do to waste time at work as well! you might want to be careful just jumping in and hitting the X button to start. as sometimes we are waiting for people that said on thesite that they would brb. (several of the guys feel the need to smoke between every frickin game...)

yes, do jump in at any time! Before starting a search however it is standard procedure to make sure everybody is good to go and not waiting for somebody.
