Didn’t watch the 2nd and 3rd periods. Just Looked at the highlights of the Edmonton goals and it was , wow! Can you possibly defend any worse? Outshot 29-11 mid point of the second? Wtf lol. Glad I didn’t watch because you could sense in the first that the Flames were not themselves. Hard to blame Markstrom when he’s constantly being hung out to dry.

An absurd amount of calls. Only way we make it past the Oilers is playing 5v5.

On the flip side, they lose every time I watch when I'm home...I was trying to save my liver, but I guess it's time for sacrifice.

The Oilers definitely stepped up their physical play. In game one the Flames won basically every single board battle, and the Oilers were much less aggressive in their checking. Game two the Oilers became much more aggressive and physical all over the ice, which continued last game. Combine that with refereeing where the Flames don't know where they stand and what type of game can be played without taking penalties while McDavid is also going into hyperdrive, and the Flames have been thrown off their game.

And some of you want to pay some of these guys 9 million???? Plus, like Sutter said, "stay out of the box".

Not sure I agree.
No Tanev means no second pairing, and an overtaxed top pairing ... which would certainly impact their ability to transition the puck up the ice and create the rush.

It's my fault, guys. I didn't wear my jersey for Games 2 or 3. I will now be wearing it until it smells so bad that I can't stand it....and I still won't take it off. You're WELCOME.

I've been sitting and stewing since last night. Thinking.
I can't believe how much I hate not just the Oilers, but their fans as well.
I said nothing after game 1. I know if the Flames are going to win, it's going to be a long series. No reason to get smug after one game.
Before I go to bed last night, I have four messages from family and friends (my dad too wtf?) rubbing the loss in my face. And like, most of these aren't hardcore fans. Just fairweather hockey fans who couldn't tell you what icing is.
Not only that, I was at a family dinner on Saturday night, and I hear a family friend say (word for word): "I'm cheering for Smith. How can you just not love the guy?"
He was a Flames fan (albeit casual) before the playoffs. Am I taking crazy pills? Who in their right mind would cheer for Smith?
There are no hockey gods. There is no god. Friends/family cheering for a team that employs a literal woman abuser in Kane, Mr DUI (Kassian), and the dbag wonder twin brigade (who pout and act like they are above answering questions to the media after a loss).
It just blows my mind. Congrats Oilers fans. It only took four 1st overall picks, but you finally found a player worth keeping.

Just gonna wipe last night's event from memory and move on.
Color me shocked the NHL didn't suspend Looch. I thought for sure he was gonna get at least a game.

I'm thinking this is over in 5, very similar to 2019. Flames are getting completely dominated by one star player and it's thrown off their entire game, I don't know how you fix that. It also looks like the Oilers are a much more mentally tough team, they can go down by 2-3-4 goals but they don't give up and keep pushing. Flames on the other hand looked completely deflated after that first goal and it was pretty much game over
New coach, new depth players, same core issues

I see it a bit different. We dominated game 1, and poor goaltending made it look competitive. Game 2 started dominant and we faded. Which led to being dominated in game 3.
It fairly even overall but they have momentum.
We need to slow it down and get a PP that actually works. The PP is my biggest issue. It hasn’t worked for 10 games now.
Anyways talk of over in 5. Man I hate to think that could happen. As A fan I won’t.

It’s actually a little encouraging that we sucked so badly and looked so terrible and only lost 4-1. Oilers were firing on all cylinders and flames looked like they were out for a Sunday skate but we were a couple plays away from this being a close game.

I’m getting the same sort of ####. Oilers fans are shameless. It just adds insult to injury.

On Oilers chirping. Here’s the thing about living in a city that warships a mall and an arena. Your hockey team becomes what you got. Your kinda forced to love them blindly, otherwise the arena is empty and the mall is it.
When Flames are done I am going to pack up and drive out to the mountains. I love this team but I don’t live in a city like the one above.

I love the Flames blindly, but even I said (when there were rumours that Kane was signing in Alberta) that I would cease being a Flames fan if he signed with Calgary.
Embarrassing franchise. They should have been torn apart in the media for it.
I feel like the Oilers and the Habs, for whatever reason, are the only two teams that could have gotten away with it.

Yes, but even when they get into the zone they're not scoring. They're not getting it done. Lindholm has been ineffective, Tkatchuk almost non existent and Gaudreau is just Gaudreau; sometimes flashy, sometimes not.

I’ve been neutral on Kane’s personal history but when he scored 3 last night I was like why is he still in the league even. He’s part of that team now so we have to deal with it.

I have experienced the same thing. I decided no trash talking until the series is over. No posting on Facebook about hockey until the series is over. I learned from 1991.
After game 2 I had one friend message me to talk trash. Last night he messaged me again with messages of how hopeless I am to cheer for losers. I had another message this morning from another Oiler fan with immature trash talk.
Then, as I'm walking my dog this morning, I'm wearing my Flames hat, and I came across an Oiler fan who just had to chirp. "Better blown up your team, you have no chance, the Cup is ours for the next few years."
I won't initiate or engage in trash talk with strangers but for some reason I get it from Oiler fans regularly.
