You are not actually meant to be "on the strip" but in the adjacent casinos. Being out of the street is actually very unpleasant experience there - and that's on purpose.

I thought it was early November. Don’t want it close to thanksgiving.

Sure, the casinos want you inside spending money on the games, food and shopping but being out on the strip is not unpleasant especially mid strip where this race will be. There are always huge crowds walking the strip and checking out the fountains of Bellagio, the Linq promenade, the Mirage volcano (which is going away soon) or sitting on the patio at Senor Frogs at TI.

They held two F1 races in Vegas in the early 80s. Literally in the Caesars Palace Parking Lot:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Caesars_Palace_Grand_Prix
As for the new race, it is logistically fascinating. Presumably they just shut down one half of the strip for vehicles...it's actually pretty well set up for this with so many pedestrian overpasses, but I wonder how they'll stop people from completely clogging them up for spectating?
Top speed will be right around the Bellagio fountains...should be some spectacular visuals...it's gonna look like a video game.
It's quite a long circuit - essentially tied with Baku and Jeddah for 2nd longest on the calendar. Will be most interested to see how they profile turns 11-14...not sure if a chicane is the right call for 11-12-13...

Size comparison between this track and that one is remarkable.

Really only 4 braking zones, and not much for complicated corners, so I suspect they'd run with low downforce. Feels Monza-like.

Aside from making life hell in Vegas for a few weeks with all the road blocks required I think this will be pretty cool. I would say it's worth a trip but I think it would be a pricey weekend.
Also I think it would make a great backdrop for Ocean's 14.

This Vegas race is very very tempting to head down to. What would a 3 day ticket cost roughly? I'm not too worried about hotels as we can stay off strip if needed, but November and a possible nhl, f1 and nfl game could be a great weekend.

Considering the prices for Miami, I would anticipate at least $2k/seat US for even the low end tickets. If any are even available direct without resorting to secondary market.

Thanks, probably will sell out super fast then (thanks bots, ticketmaster, live nation, etc). I'm sure there is some sort of list/clu you could sign up to get first crack at tickets.

Yeah, the Miami prices are insane. It's cheaper to fly to Europe/OZ and get a seat there. I think Vegas will be as bad or worse. Everyone is gonna want to go and its driving distance to LA/PHX.

Can't you just book a really nice hotel room with a view?

I quickly browsed the course, and I think this is the only hotel with balconies. Those corner rooms would be sweet, but you would only see the ass ends of the cars, given the direction:

Oo, actually this would be great:

Check out the views! Spin around to see the size of the balconies:

I suspect these will be in high demand.

Cosmopolitan Hotel
I bet they will sell spots off there pool balcony, so that could be a good option if possible.
Edit: $850 a night right now , so I would imagine it goes up from there come race weekend.

Since they haven't announced the date yet can we do some lottery scratch ticket Saturday night booking?
Booo only dates until Feb 2023 online.
