They aren’t. The thing is that, just like the talk about Ward and his systems, some folks are insistent that there is some magic button that will unlock the greatness in the Flames’ top players. New systems. New coach. New line combos. All those things may help, but at the end of the day, the top 4 forwards are just not at the level of most of the better teams’ top 4 players.

You may be right but that is one hell of an indictment when you are in year 7 of your rebuild. I still think Darryl can drag this team kicking and screaming into the playoffs.

I'm not particularly inclined towards seeing the Flames make any deadline acquisitions. I'm most interested in seeing the Flames get the full potential out of the players they have.
