It's been discussed ad nauseum but Gaudreau is more than likely walking away in 2 years... so trying to get a good return for him while possible PLUS the potential of signing a #1 LW replacement in Taylor Hall means trading Gaudreau makes a lot of sense in terms of pure asset management.
