Goes to show what a good example does. Most Flames donating $5k (or $10k between spouses). Meanwhile the Bruins GoFundMe has a couple players only, and they all only donated $1k.

After getting a good arena deal from the city, you'd think the least they would do is step up for their employees during a crisis...
nvm, I hadn't heard the latest announcement until just now

Bennett tried to make a donation but when as he was hitting the donate button he took a penalty.

He's an ownership shill, he plays devil's advocate with the Flames performance, that's where the confusion lies.

In fairness though, $1K USD is like $37.8M in CAD.

Good. Still give it to the arena staff as an added bonus of appreciation. If they choose to donate their share to another cause then that's their choice.
Either way, its theirs to do with as they see fit. Proud of the players, still not a fan of the organization back pedalling into their equalization plan.

I think one of the Dallas Star players was one of the first ones to pony up 100k.
Kevin Love was THE first in the NBA. Then Zion just crushed the entire thing altogether.

Holy cow. I just looked up Zion. This kid’s a 19 year old rookie and he’s paying New Orleans’ arena staff for 30 days out of his own pocket.

Yeah, without thought too, just up and swung a homer of humanity and humility.
