The issue isn’t Bennett - its that the other first rounder on the line is a floater. Maybe Bennett between Czarnik and Rinaldo could work. Lots of speed there.

My rant? It was like one post and three sentences. I'm still not convinced that it was the best idea to give him up (he could be depth for the playoffs), but at the time that I said what I said, I wasn't aware that he couldn't be waived and sent to Stockton for ice time. That's something that changes the situation considerably.

Knowing that he can't be sent down, it was undoubtedly the right move to give one of the defensemen a fresh start in San Jose.
