Clearly they don't need anything. Why would you mess with the roster of the greatest team in the history of teams?

Jagr wouldn't want to go there, a mullet is nothing special where everyone is sporting them.

Well it is night time - no doubt a bunch of teams management will be pulling all nighters tonight as they tinker with the line-up with last minute additions and adjustments. Treliving has been extremely pragmatic this off-season; he methodically chipped away at each and every need and he got it done. I have no doubt in my mind he’s working on something to free up space for Janko and make Glass the 13th. Brouwer makes a ton of sense to be moved IMO and I could see where he might be open to moving for a better spot in a lineup.

2 days to season opener, lots of teams looking to fill holes. There are a few teams that could use Brouwer skill set on the 3rd line. Hopefully there are some teams considering him as an option.
It's about finding a match where Brouwer likes his chances with the depth chart.
Gotta think Van, Stl, Fla, and the outside chance of the Ava are all talking to Brad.
But those are the previously mentioned. I'm wondering if Carolina would be interested in Brouwer. But what about Ottawa or Toronto? Anyone know if those 2 would have room for him?
I'm pulling these teams out of thin air with their depth chart and team size/grit in mind.

What if it was Brouwer (33% retained) to the Blues for a condition 7th (nothing)?
The Flames would lost 70% of a barely serviceable Brouwer. St. Louis would get a bit of forward depth back at a more reasonable cost.
It would leave the Flames with enough cap space to sign a quality UFA in the 2018 free agency. Or enough space to potentially make a move a the deadline.

We do have a surplus of young defensemen. If this rumor were to be true, I could see a salary rentention along with a young defenseman being traded along with it. As we have seen in the past, bad contracts seemingly cost an arm and a leg to get rid of.

I personally see him going to Vegas. Need more forward depth, and an excess of defensemen, or which we need a #6 left-handed blueliner.
At the end of the day, does anyone really care where he goes?
|
Not at all... but we will keep some of his salary.
