I'm honestly a fair bit less concerned about Brouwer after the Jagr news. He's a pretty darn good 4th liner, and sure he's overpaid but there are very few realistic solutions for that.

I'm quite happy entering the season with the current lineup. And regardless of Jankowski's situation as of tomorrow, he will get a shot in the lineup this year I'm sure.

I'm just speculating that perhaps that's the situation. The flames believe there are other players who deserve the roster spot and have told him he's going to be demoted. I don't think it's a ultimatum, just a reality, but the Flames are doing their best to find him an NHL home.... that would suggest he'd need to be open to most organizations.

I think it's all about the approach. I doesn't need to be negative, if everyone is working together to find a happy solution.

The Oilers could easily have paid Jagr on a one-year deal. It's not until next year that we see the premiere of a new series about life in cap jail: ‘Orange is the New Blue’.
