Trying to buy a TV and usually what happens with black friday is that stores release flyers with all of their deals ahead of time so you can figure out where the best deals are and see if someone is undercutting the rest of the market on something.
This year it seems like everything is "pre black friday" (in other words: please buy this at a higher price before we discount it on black friday) and there's no information about what the actual black friday sales prices are going to be to the extent they're different.
It's really annoying. I could just buy the and have price protection but that's a PITA and you risk them not honouring it for some stupid reason.

I mentioned I could get factory OE parts for ~$1,283 CAD shipped (I had the parts with hardware sitting in my cart ready to buy), at which point I was informed they won't use customer-supplied parts "we use high quality parts blah blah". Funny how they were cool with installing my customer-supplied outer tie-rod ends when I showed up, but then the chance to make a few thousand dollars with their 310% markup reared its head.
I went elsewhere.

I’m not defending the shop per-say, but that’s a hell of a price for those OE parts. On top of that, was shipping included? We’re one of those parts to require warranty, who’s paying to r&r? Your parts arriving at your door doesn’t cover any of the overhead to actually install them. 100% materials markup is nothing, you just don’t see it because most industries aren’t shooting themselves in the foot.
Again, not defending the shop, because whatever. But go find ‘supplier’ cost for any other regulated trade and compare. Automotive trades don’t even have the option of working out of a van, they have more overhead than almost any other trade and it’s a constant race to the bottom. Miserable trade.

What kind of monster takes the middle one out of 3 bathroom pooper stalls? Is that worse than taking the middle urinal? Then the tough choice of picking either the stall by the door or the back corner with poor light (and air circulation). Lastly… is there any rule about 2nd pooper leaves first and the first pooper waits?

Sounds like the type of guy that used to #### at my old office. He would always chose the middle stall them build what can only be described as a bird's nest on the seat to stop him bum bum from touching the seat. Then when done that filthy ####er walked out and left all those squished down $#### tickets on the seat for the next guy to have to clean up.

This should be a fireable offense. Being so completely obtuse that its obvious the person doesn't care about taking care of their own responsibilities or how they affect others.

How do you know he didn’t take the middle because the other two were occupied?

Wait a second, doesn’t your example about what’s wrong with the other two prove why one should take that middle stall if it’s available? You’re not mad he took the middle you’re mad he got there first.

I don't begrudge a shop adding margin on parts to a reasonable degree, they need to keep the lights on, etc. I get that. 100% markup is one thing, this is over 300%, and I don't have some sneaky backdoor to cheap parts, just the usual public sources for new retail parts.
One of the parts -- I believe it was the hubs and wheel bearing assembly -- I was told cost ~$1,000 each. That's pure horsesh-t, the absolutely most expensive I could find it anywhere on the internet was on Rimmer Bros for $473.94 each after exchange and UK VAT (which we don't pay).

You may one day find yourself in a position where your short a square and you’ll be thankful to have a stall neighbour. So long as they can spare a square…
As for who should leave first? I say once you’re done, you’re done!

I put one shoe in each of the end stalls so you're forced to run up the stairs.

Their Sour Cream and Chives crackers were a guilty pleasure of mine. They discontinued those a number of years ago. I could finish a box pretty quickly.

I'm mostly curious about the "who leaves first" part. Is this really a consideration? Are people embarrassed to be seen in the bathroom so expect someone to wait in the stall until they're done? I have so many questions

Right? When I feel the need, I just whip down my pants and push. Doesn't matter where I am or who is around.

Two gears to grind today.
1) Trades people charging to go to the shop for #### they should have had with them. I booked boiler service and pressure tank replacement for today over two months ago. The guy shows up and when I am showing him the boiler he asks about the pressure tank replacement that was in the work order. I said yes I need one, and he's like okay I just need to go back to the shop to get one. I guarantee that I would be charged for his time. It also sounds like he dropped the old one and spilled glycol all over my basement.
2) While working from home, I had to reply to an email where all the answers were in the email if guy sending it just scrolled down. The thing is the guy is just asking them as he wants an excuse not for not finishing today as previously committed.

Yeah that’s what did it for me. I’ve heard the urinal choice thing before, the stall choice was a little weird, but “who leaves first” was right over the top. I consciously try to pay no attention to the fact that other people are in there.
