those carb and salt heavy snacks are such a slippery slope

10x as satisfying and satiating as fruit /veggies/nuts/health snacks and the most readily available products around . I commend those that manage to stay away from them

Smart Food popcorn is probably the most evil of the snack foods. Although they don't claim that it is healthy, the name implies that it is a relatively healthy snack. In reality, it is full of saturated fat, carbs, sugar, and processed oil. People probably shouldn't jump to conclusions that smart=healthy, but I am sure the intention of the company is to hope people do make that conclusion.

Don't get me wrong, it is a delicious product and like other things, it's about moderation. I just don't think the branding is appropriate.

That was one of life’s most difficult decisions. Which McDonald’s cookie flavour to pick.

I love when an auto shop tries to treat people like clueless idiots and it burns them.

Had my vehicle in for a tire swap, getting the outer tie-rod ends done, and to get some front-end work quoted... they tried to quote me $5,500 for the parts and labour to do two lower control arms, two sway bar end links, two front wheel hubs with bearings, and an alignment, the parts being ~$4,000 of the quoted price. I mentioned I could get factory OE parts for ~$1,283 CAD shipped (I had the parts with hardware sitting in my cart ready to buy), at which point I was informed they won't use customer-supplied parts "we use high quality parts blah blah". Funny how they were cool with installing my customer-supplied outer tie-rod ends when I showed up, but then the chance to make a few thousand dollars with their 310% markup reared its head.

I went elsewhere.

I don't know if this GMG or makes me happy, but people who plaster their cars in the AMA stickers.

On one hand they're showing the world they're clueless muppets (thinking they have to put the sticker on to qualify or something). But on the other hand, they're highlighting to me that they are clueless muppets and likely will drive as such on the road.

The stickers have no impact on me, yet somehow it still bugs me, but I've found the silver lining in using it to ID bad drivers

Because the only people who put those on their cars are a million years old.

If you see the Gold ones, I think they stopped issuing those in the 70s.

It is a well known fact that anyone with those stickers on their car is to be avoided at all costs.

My wife is what I call a “half cleaner”.

This means that she will start to clean, get bored and then leave things for extended periods of time. For example, she will start to clean the shower, then leave the cleaning supplies in the shower for a week. She unload the dryer and put the clean clothes on top of the laundry machine for days. She will unload the top rack of the dishwasher, but not the bottom rack. It is absolutely maddening.

Sounds like classic ADHD.

Has she ever done an assessment?

This is why I think that companies should have to put out notice that they are stopping production of products at least one month before it happens. There have been far to many times that I fall in love with a product to find out that they stopped making it. If I had known that they were going to stop making something I would buy them all.

The Calgary Herald really GMG these days (yeah I'm one of the dinosaurs that still gets a paper delivered). For the past 2 months I've got a paper less than half the time, and when I file a complaint there is no option to request a refund/subscription extension for the missing paper, just a note "we are aware of a problem in your area, your paper should be delivered by 11:00." Of course the paper rarely actually shows up later in the day.

Why do you hate your mouth?

Yeah I would have gone crazy on Cheez Willikers. I would have been like 20 at the time but I'm sure I could have loaded up a freezer or two.

Going back many years now, but Jell-0 Pudding Pops were so good. I loved them when I was a kid and still to this day get cravings for them.

RIP. Those were so good, but man I had no self control with them. Would just demolish a bag in a couple of days if they were in the house.

They used to use an oil that was laden with trans-fats. They hung on far longer than anybody else. When they changed the flavour changed and has never been the same.

Days? Yeah, I'd eat the whole bag in a sitting.

Christie's French Onion crackers were my favourite, haven't seen them in years.
