Hopefully the excitement of World Cup also generates more interest on the local professional game as well. It gives more opportunities to Calgarians like Sam Adekugbe or Scott Kennedy, rather than forcing them to move to Vancouver or play with 6th division Germany to get their shot.
If Cavalry are smart, they'll be marketing during World Cup watch parties.
