I've been a heavy Twitter user daily since 2009 and now it doesn't work - on a huge sports news day - and it's directly from his ridiculous schemes to turn that site into a money maker for a guy who's already one of the richest people in the world, he doesn't even need it. It's super frustrating. Are you a Twitter investor or something? I'll never get random celeb man crushes to this level...

I will never ever understand the "just don't use Twitter" line to justify the damage that one egomaniac has done to a platform that worked really well before he came in. It's just the best place to keep up to speed for sports news, why shouldn't I be pissed that Space Karen is destroying something I use daily?

No it isn't. Valid criticism is discussing on a technical level why Twitter is down. Saying Elon is a bigot and and a homophobe and other crap is partisan trash. But that's how CP rolls. BTW, I get PMs all the time from people telling me as such there is a silent majority here that is fed up with it.

Twitter blue is not a cash grab in fact it's ludicrous for you to suggest Elon buying the platform is a crash grab. He's already lost $20 billion or more. Twitter blue is there to get rid of bots and it's working. If you can think of a better way then tweet at Elon and tell him. No one has come up with a better way.

Currently Twitter is being massively data scraped that's why user views are being limited.

Because that's how the free market works. Remember when people kept saying don't like censorship then make your own platform? Well Elon now has his own platform and people are losing their minds when he runs it how they see fit.

Like you complain about "the fun factor is near zero" around here now, and in your next post show it's posters like you, who take some things as seriously as a heart attack, and go to wild extremes with the latter post. Posters here mock Elon (which is fun!), and you come over the top with such a vivacious defense of him...like unless he's related to you by blood, do you really need to be so over the top in your defense of him?

In the first video, notice the error message that I'm being rate limited. Then notice the jiggling scrollbar on the right.

The second video shows why it's jiggling. Twitter is firing off about 10 requests a second to itself to try and fetch content that never arrives because Elon's latest genius innovation is to block people from being able to read Twitter without logging in.

This likely created some hellish conditions that the engineers never envisioned and so we get this comedy of errors resulting in the most epic of self-owns, the self-DDOS.

I've honestly been a little worried from day 1 it's for something darker...but I hate conspiracy theories as a general rule so I didn't want to take it that direction. So I'll just ignore this happening after midterms when things start to heat up, and go with he just wants to Own The Libs for now.
