Plenty of other possibilities if you don't live on the dark side of every single issue.
Think my track record of not stating things as fact that aren't is pretty solid, thanks.

I am not questioning you at all.

Trust me that’s not where I want to be but it’s difficult 😞

I also get the attraction SJ has for older players. Nice family areas with relative anonymity.

The denseness of New York doesn't matter much when you get to live in a deluxe apartment in the sky.

Eichel would definitely be moving on up if traded to NY.

There are cities where very rich people who don’t have to work and can own homes anywhere in the world choose to live. New York is one of those cities (as are Miami, Tampa, LA, Boston, the San Fransisco Bay area, and Chicago). Calgary is not.

It's a factor for sure, and I have no idea how people could think it's not.

If you read that Zadorov interview, take home pay is a big issue for these guys.

Wallow in constant misery and whining?
This is a message board where people come to talk about their team. There really isn't whole lot good to say about the current state. This is a bad team, until that changes people can comment on it as they like.

With our luck we'll probably find out down the road that Treliving had a deal in place with the Sabres for Eichel, but after talking to Eichels camp was told that Jack had no interest in coming to Canada.
We'll hear about it after Eichel is dealt to Vegas where he gets his surgery, makes a full recovery, and goes back to being a point per game or better elite #1C.

That or how BT just couldn't pay the extra 2nd round pick and just lost out on the value of the trade. Seems to be the way for BT and the team :/

He is under contract for 5 more years, it doesn't matter if he has no interest in playing in Canada. If that is the case you acquire him, let him get back to high levels and hopefully either he decides he isn't so opposed anymore or his trade value goes up to where it should be and you get a boatload return. He isn't going to sit out and lose $10M in salary a year by not playing. Get the player here first, then worry about if he wants to stay long term or not.

If his camp says "don't bother trading for him, he will just hold out for another trade to a desired destination" then you'd have to be an idiot to trade for him.

You'd have to be a bigger idiot to not play and lose 10m per year.

Eichel is young, elite #1 centre.
Why don't the Sabres just keep him, I wonder then? He'd be an idiot to not play and lose $10M per year.

I know this is tongue in cheek but the personalities thing is obviously at play here. There is a rift between Eichel, Management and more importantly Ownership of the Sabres. The pegulas don't want him there anymore.
