Good luck with that. What a clueless man. It’s becoming so much more apparent with this.
Glad he’s gone. Don’t believe a word he ever said anymore.

Holy butthurt, guy. You're pretty much having a stroke over someone that chose to do something for himself instead of you, the guy that pays to watch hockey. Man, you need to grow up a bit and find out what life's like once you have kids, wife, your parents get older, and just see whether NOISIA is the most important person for Gaudreau to worry about while signing his UFA contract.
As for the people that think that he flubbed it? Well, if you say so. But I'd argue that after wrestling with his loyalty to Calgary vs. his desire to be that much closer to home, Columbus didn't seem so bad. And it's hilarious how mad some people are about the very thought of Columbus. WTF you think Calgary is much higher on a free agent's list?
Some (many) of you need to calm down and look at this from his perspective. JG owes Calgary nothing. He showed up for his ELC, and then signed the 6-year contract offered by Calgary. He's now a short flight from home and doesn't have his parents peeking in his back window. He's not in Philly where he'd be drawn and quartered (maybe get some batteries thrown at him) for not winning the Cup next year. I don't see what's so difficult to understand. Basically, it's not always about the money.

Not reading your essay ^
But saying JG owes Calgary nothing, that’s such a horrible take.

He had every right to move on, not in question.
He handled it as dreadfully poorly as he could though.
He could have just been honest with himself and the team and told them he wasnt coming back, and certainly didnt need to be negotiating to the last 12 hours.
It lacked class and professionalism entirely.

Oh, because everybody has their mind made up a month in advance, to accommodate trade deadline? The fact that it took him so long could easily be argued that he was having a tough time leaving.
You think you know what was going through his head? You really do?

-Or- it was a major decision that he discussed with his wife. You know nothing about their relationship dynamics… just bitter.

Life decisions that mess with other peoples life’s should not be done at the last hour, sorry if that’s how you do things, but trust me, people notice.

While still saddened by the loss of Johnny Hockey, I loved the video. Definitely some LOL moments.
I liked when he was deciding to put on the jersey or not - he's like "should I?"; meanwhile Jarmo looks like an assassin, "oh yeah".
Still wish Johnny the best.

Lol what does that even mean? He’s not letting himself be hurt by a pro athletes decision. You’re the big ####ing baby in all of this. Grow up.

Yeah he could’ve dealt with it sooner… he didn’t. It won’t affect his life as much as it appears to be affecting yours. Absolute mental midget to be bothered this much by a hockey player leaving.

The entire Gaudreau situation is like a microcosm of society.
Johnny is a likeable but gullible human and his Wife is clearly a Lizard-person whispering machinations of the destruction of society in his ear.
Or wait! Maybe thats the explanation! Maybe his wife is the hero in all of this, she wanted to stay in Calgary but Johnny is a Lizard-Man and his poor wife is now too deeply embroiled in their plans for World Domination to have stopped him!
Johnny and the Lizard-Men orchestrated his exit from Calgary to Columbus because they want to sow anarchy at the sporting foundations of the NHL because they know only Canada stands in their way toward true World Domination!
Or none of that is true and we have no idea why anyone does anything because people are nuts. But thats way less fun.
