He's now a short flight from home and doesn't have his parents peeking in his back window. He's not in Philly where he'd be drawn and quartered (maybe get some batteries thrown at him) for not winning the Cup next year. I don't see what's so difficult to understand. Basically, it's not always about the money.

He had every right to move on, not in question.

He handled it as dreadfully poorly as he could though.

He could have just been honest with himself and the team and told them he wasnt coming back, and certainly didnt need to be negotiating to the last 12 hours.

It lacked class and professionalism entirely.
