I'm told this morning that Craig is listening (both sides are talking now) AND that Kadri would be open to it.

I know diss is a bit more connected with the Kadri stuff than I am, but this is the first time I've heard he would consider a reunion with T.O.

With that said I cant think of anything I'd even want from Toronto...and would put a very sizable gap in our top 6.

Easton Cowen you are a Calgary Flame.

Or more likely Nic Robertson and a 3rd, you are Calgary Flames.

I just can’t see a deal with Toronto working out. Cowen is a nice piece but what else? Would they move Cowen for a 35 year old?

2028 1st would be my #1 target. Extra ammo as the team rounds the corner, and set back now to help ensure the team does turn that corner.

Just shows that there are never absolutes and maybe we should use them less.

This would be a fantastic summer to tear down a few more of the studs holding up this rickety roof and get those lottery odds up there into the top 5 range.

McKenna would be a game changer

Man if this team didn't try to move Kadri if the Leafs are really demanding him, when the Flames are in this position competitively, I really don't understand the direction and hopes of this team.

If Kadri is open to moving, I really hope something like this gets done.

I will add that both Friedman and Kypreo's have been saying the same for a few days, so there's definitely smoke.

Toronto has no 2026 1st rounder
Toronto has no 2027 1st rounder
2028... so far away to even consider, but you would wager it would have to be part of it.

I dislike Cowan very much, I think he's a long shot to be an every day NHL'r
If I'm Craig I'm telling them Knies or nothing.

I'll be sad if Naz goes but I'm sure the joy from others here would outweigh that.

Amazing news. I love Kadri but given his age (and my preferred direction), this makes a lot of sense.

Cowen + unprotected future 1st........or unprotected future 1st + 2 2nds. I'm sure Brad is trying to get Connie to take on some bad cap.

Probably have to take Domi in any deal to make the money work. Which means the price goes up.

They have no assets… so if Treliving wants to trade then he better find some.

So little on the leafs roster or prospect pool makes sense for flames. Unless Conroy looking to get the Robertson brothers together.

Unless Treliving has completely lost his mind, there’s no way he’s moving Knies.

Cowan
Laughton
2026 3rd round pick

Laughton would be a stop-gap at C, and could be flipped at the deadline for a 2nd. He’s also good buddies with Frost and Farabee, so he might turn things around here after a meh showing with the Leafs.

Toronto has a lot of centres, no 1st round picks until 2028, and no top prospects outside of Cowan.
----
Matthews($13.3M x 3)
Tavares($4.4M x 4)
Roy($3M x 2)
Laughton($1.5M x 1)

I was sure they would be more interested in a guy like Coleman, because their wings look pretty bare. Maybe Tavares switches to the wing or Roy is a part of the package going to CGY, but it doesn't seem like a great fit.

Come on people.

Knies is a 22 year old that just put up nearly 60 points and they just extended him long term.

Do you really think they'd trade him for a 35 year old?

Dang I hope the return would be much better than that. Unload a 60pt C for a 4C, a C prospect and a mid round pick? No thanks
