I actually do think Tij will be there at 9, just given all the great positional prospects at the top of this draft.

I'll be a happy camper if Catton or Iginla is available at 9 and furious if the flames pass on either.

It feels like there's 3 players that have no chance of being on the board at 9.

Levshunov
After that, it seems like Catton, Lindstrom and Dickinson are long shots.
The reality is that there's going to be some really good players to choose from, but I really really really hope Catton does drop to us.

Catton would be great but I would be over the moon if we got Lindstrom. You are probably right though on those guys not being there.

I have a hard time seeing the Flames pass on Iginla if available. Maybe if Conroy wasn't GM and Iggy wasn't in the org.

I would take Helenius over Catton, an opinion shared by many experts in their lists over the last couple months.

Nope. Word on the street is conroy is trying to get another
pick to target a defencemen. I think its yak.
To me he has every tool to be not only a top pairing but stud defender. Lindstrom could be a star center, so could catton, helenius probably top six center.
No im fine with snagging a possible stud defender. Actually mentioned before if you did get two picks and dickinson or buium happened to fall we could draft our future stud top pairing in one draft.

Getting more and more excited for the draft with the great discussion on here.
Just love how many times we've seen player X won't be there for the Flames. Odds start to suggest one or two of them will be!
Glad the draft deepened out at the top with the Flames having a top ten pick.
The draft will be a lot of fun with the high pick and then the draft not being over with Vancouver's pick.

I'd have no issue if the team thinks Helenius is better...it's quite possible he ends up being the best player of those 4.

The thing about this class is that the sheer volume of top blueliners leads to all of them (except Levshunov, oddly) being collectively undervalued. Like, any of Buium, Dickinson, Parekh, Silayev, maybe Yakemchuk would be the undisputed #1 D in pretty much any draft class ever. Right now, we're looking at one maybe two of those guys not even going in the top 10.
Seriously, compare Yakemchuk or Dickinson to the defenders from the 2016 class. They're both better than any of them, including Sergachev.

I just really want them to acquire another top 15 (even top 20) pick.
Andersson, Markstrom, Kadri...I don't really care what it takes to acquire it. Just get another one.
