We already fired a coach last year. The current coach is signed for just this year. Boudreau is a proven coach in the NHL (at least for the regular season). If only we could fire Benning again, he is the problem… still.

I stand corrected. Given BB is signed for only the rest of the year and, by all accounts a "generational" player player available in the upcoming draft, you probably are correct that he'll likely ride out the year.

The scary thing for Canuck fans is that Rutherford already hired his guy back in the summer. Mike Yeo is just waiting for the call.

our two rival teams imploding does bring a smile to my face

if Vancouver is taking it that badly already though I'm wary about how they get through an 82 game season . they're going to run out things to destroy or litter

Hey Blaster, are Canuck fans embracing a tank for Bedard?

Multiple callers on their post-game show last night suggested this.

We would lose the draft lottery… not happening.

It was never just Benning. Benning was a yes man. It's ownership. That's been the issue from day one. The reason Rutherford was welcomed in is because we expected him to not be a yes man. Now he hasn't even been in charge for a year, and expecting immediate and drastic change was never realistic BUT that we're just getting Benning's roster with a few more Russians is some really feel bad ####.

As for tanking for Bedard. I am anti-tank. Always will be anti-tank. Cheering to lose is some lame ass Oiler fan #### and I'm not here for it. Being bad and losing is one thing. Actively cheering for it is for dweebs.

I can't argue that Boudreau hasn't had a successful coaching career, but he sure doesn't seem to inspire confidence. He seems like such a wiener in front of the camera.

honestly drafting high in an elite draft class is probably the best route for them given the cap predicament . if you snag Bedard somehow then that elite talent will push the team ahead in a year or two more than any (likely botched) trades

seems like a guy that an entitled clique-y locker room would tune out pretty quickly

I like it, if you genuinely suck then thats just the way of things, dont put effort into sucking.

That is Oilers and you never go Full Oilers.

In all seriousness, much like the Oilers, a perpetually losing attitude is hard to shake.

Ya I think the hysteria demonstrated over a 0-4-2 stretch is a little much. This type of stretch happens to a lot of teams during the regular season, it's more pronounced because it's the beginning of the season. Because it's a weird fanbase with a strange combination of entitlement, chip on its shoulder, woe is me, and a dash of anger management issues, you get this sort of tenor to start the season.

Some people keep saying not to worry… the Canucks aren’t bad enough to be in the mix for Bedard. But if you look at how bad they were for the first half of last year and look at them right now… they may just be that bad.

If JT Miller is so bad in the locker room and on the defensive side of the game, why would sign him you could have easily fetched a first and some prospects? Why would you want him the locker room with say a Bedard?

Did not see a terrible start to the season coming for the Canucks. I thought they might actually be competing for a playoff spot this year. Still early days though
