Montreal wouldn't be looking to move Anderson because they don't like the player. They'd be looking to move the contract cause they need space. Pageau saves them next to nothing up front.

Just context for those who trot out how 'terrible' the contract is.
As for the players, they are pretty similar in counting stats: JA has had at least a 23g/37p pace for 4 of last 5 seasons. BC's goal scoring is declining a bit as his roles changed, but he looks like he'll be a little under 20g/35pts guy. Big/tough winger vs. a gritty/savvy winger.
And I was wrong in my first post - Coleman is actually 2.5 yrs older.
Obviously if we could trade BC for a 13OA it would be a homerun. Anderson's contract gives you his age 28-33 years; size and goal-scoring are scarce traits. I don't think he's quite worth a 13OA, but it's not far off.
It would be really weird for NYI to acquire yet another winger locked 5M+ for several more years.

True, but Anderson’s durability is a huge question imo. I think that would lower his value a bit. There’s no way I’d trade 13th overall for him at this point.

Good post, but I disagree that trading Coleman for a mid-first round pick as a homerun.
Trading Coleman for a prospect greatly reduces the Flames chance of winning the cup next season.

I would be pretty shocked if they move that salary for a top 13 pick. Only way it makes sense is a money in, money out scenario if they are trying to secure a high end pick

Coronato was drafted with the 13th pick. Wouldn't move that pick for Anderson.

I'm not saying they move him for #13OA. I'm saying if they move him it would be for cap relief. I don't know there is a deal the Habs could make to get another high/mid pick without retention.

Okay. I am speaking to the rumor in question where it speculates the Islanders have interest in Andersen and are considering moving their 13th overall pick

JFresh’s report cards are limited in their time span. In fact he’s even kind of disparaged them himself by posting last year and this year for some players who got put in a different spot and excelled. I think Gudbranson was an example. So sometimes (maybe not Anderson per se) they don’t reflect the player’s potential/ability.
Anderson will get interest because of his tools. His head is another story.

Anderson is big, fast and physical. Plus he's got a decent shot and shown an ability to score goals. Being a right shot never hurts either.
IMO he's the type of guy who if he gets in the right situation could easily prove the doubters wrong.

He's 28 years old. He is what he is at this stage of his career.

That exact same post has been made about Anderson every year since he was 20. So tiring.

Where in my post did I say he was still developing?
I said that if he is put in the right situation I could see him being a much more effective player.
Look no further than Gudbranson last season. He was 30 years old and was what he was right? Then was put in the right situation and thrived much more than the majority of Flames fans thought he would, myself included.

There was no expectation for Gud. He had a very low bar to clear and he did as a bottom pair dman
Whoever trade for Anderson will pay heavily and would expect a lot more
To me, he is like Bennett. Always look like he can do more but rarely does

Lmao, you mean the guy who got 28 goals in 71 games last year while being super effective in other areas for the Panthers? Ya, that's a great example of what you meant.

Yes that’s the one. The guy that got 1 goal in the playoffs on a stack team this year genius
Never said he was useless, just always make you wanting more and super inconsistent.

Just a feeling but going after Anderson just brings up Brower and Neal vibes
