Yeah, really only fits Valimaki but it is worded vaguely enough who knows. Likely a BS rumour but I never disliked Tkachuk as the centerpiece in an Eichel trade. He has caught the Flames curse, he talks a big game but hasn't produced when needed. Monahan going the other way would be way better for the Flames but the prospects would probably Zary and Coronato.

yeah everybody hoping it's Zadorov is grasping at straws IMO. Has to be Valimaki. If they name Tkachuk (who obviously was a 1st himself), why wouldn't they name other vets who were 1st by name too? Zary, Coronato and Pelletier still fall in the prospect category. Valimaki is the only one who makes sense there ... and frankly, with the emergence of Kylington, I understand why the Flames might be okay with including him.

You have to assume that the two other prospects are not former first rounders, otherwise why would they be listed in a separate category to the "former 1st rounder".
My guess is it's:
Tkachuk
1st
Valimaki
2 non-1st round prospects
That hurts, but if Tkachuk wants out anyways, it's not as big of a loss. Basically, both Buffalo and Calgary dealing two higher end players. Both clubs deal with their problems while getting something very nice in return. Win/Win....assuming Eichel comes back healthy.

Damn what a haul. I guess they aren't optimistic on getting Chucky to do a home town discount to stay with the Flames after RFA. How is this not done? Buffalo wants more ? Wow.
