Elliott is playing like garbage. Such a frustrating game to watch. Hoping for the best in the third.

There is a reason the turnover leaders are usually high profile elite players.

Except there was literally zero reason to pass back to the blue line/neutral zone? On that play. Maybe Gaudreau should make something out of the play by getting it to the net instead of constantly trying to set up a point shot (of which we have scored on very few of this year). While the passes may usually be accurate it doesn't mean they're always necessary and it becomes predictable.
Looking to Johnny to step it up in the third and take some accountability. He's been a non factor in most of the past handful of games. We need him to come through in a positive way. Flames relied on the Backlund line for offense early in the season and we all saw how that went.

It seriously burns my ass when our goalies are beat clean and they're swimming in the blue.
If they get burned clean when they're in the white, okay. That's a goal-scorer's shot. But if the shooter is clearly gonna have a crack at goal, get out of that crease.

No. They are not playing bad, and while the Canucks have had a handful of good chances they are being outskated, outhit, and generally dominated. That have fired TEN SHOTS on goal through two periods. They are awful.
The Flames have looked a bit sloppy and disjointed, but have been by far the better team. They are absolutely unlucky to be down by two.

Bad luck. Certain brainfarts at inopportune moments (Gio,Versteeg, Bouma, Elliott).

It's January 6.

That doesn't change the point at all.

I'm not surprised that Elliott would get all the blame here, but the Flames have 23 shots and only a single goal on a goaltender who really hasn't been that much better.

We're losing to a terrible Canucks team in a game where the Flames have mostly dominated the play and have had the majority of grade A scoring chances. Not to mention some of us have been forced to listen to John Garrett all night. Put it all together, and it makes for a pretty miserable night for Flames fans.

Remember two years ago when down 3-1 in the third was right where we wanted to be? 3-1 feels like it's 7-1 tonight.
