I wasn't being negative towards Price, but I think it's obvious he believes what he believes and the organization told him to make a public apology. Price has the right to his belief but when he makes a public statement he has too understand that he also represents the Stampeders and has to deal with the consequences.

He can start by posting on instagram a photo of him and another guy holding hands while ordering at the YYC Chick-Fil-A.

Stampeders already made some cut after the 10th day of camp. No surprise here.

Released import DL Brandon Williams, import DL Kayvon Sherrill, import DB Darrian Skinner and import DB Otis Merrill.

Injury update

Import receivers Jeff Fuller and Nik Lewis and non-import receiver Jabari Arthur returned to practice. Import receiver Joe West, import receiver Marquay McDaniel, non-import offensive lineman Shane Bergman, non-import offensive lineman Dan Federkeil, non-import defensive lineman Junior Turner, import running back Martell Mallett and import defensive lineman DeQuin Evans missed practice.

Just looking at the Stamps current camp roster, what happened to Adrian McPherson?

I don't see him listed as one of the QB's in camp.

EDIT: Nevermind, found THIS article.

Disappointing, would have been a nice insurance policy to have IMO......especially with oft injured Tate.

Does anyone know if Johnny Forzani has retired or found a new home somewhere else?

I think he retired for now because of his foot injury.

Yeah I am not sure. I. Know the foot is still an issue, I think he is an unsigned free agent at the moment. I just haven't heard a thing about him. Too bad, he had wheels.

He basically has a deal with the stamps that he is gonna take his time with the injured ankle and if its ever good to go he would be back with Calgary.

Sounds like a bad injury tho, too bad, he could definitely stretch the field.

From Stampeder site :

Stamps sign three imports

The Calgary Stampeders have signed import receiver Jeremy Horne, import defensive lineman Monte Simmons and import defensive back Torin Harris.

Horne played nine games for the National Football League’s Kansas City Chiefs in 2010-11 and has also spent time with the New York Giants. Horne played his three final collegiate seasons (2007-09) at UMass and recorded 85 catches for 1,343 yards and 11 touchdowns for the Minutemen. He was a third-team all-Colonial Athletic Conference performer as a junior in 2008 as he made 50 catches for 895 yards and eight touchdowns.

Simmons has attended NFL training camps with the San Francisco 49ers (2011), Philadelphia Eagles (2012) and Indianapolis Colts (2013). Collegiately, he played 45 games and made 19 starts as a defensive end for Kent State. He finished his career with the Golden Flashes in third place in school history with 21.5 career sacks and eighth in tackles for loss with 38.5. Simmons earned second-team all-Mid-American Conference honours as a senior in 2009 after collecting 38 tackles, including 10 tackles for loss, 5.5 sacks and one forced fumble.

Harris played four seasons at the University of Southern California (2010-13) after redshirting in 2009. In 14 games, including four starts, as a senior for the Trojans, he recorded 30 total tackles and had one interception, and seven pass break-ups.

Very rare to see guys from USC end up with the Stamps. The last I can remember was Matt Grootegoed? Always interesting to see how the guys from the big schools pan out.

Coach Huff said he's still with the team but had a major setback with the healing.

Sad to hear, he's one of my favs.

QB updates:

Vicki Hall@vickihallch6 mins

For those asking, Stamps QB battle a dead heat right now between Tate and Mitchell. One day, one guys. The next day, it's the other.

Scott Mitchell@SUNMitchell3 mins

Stamps OC Dave Dickenson says QB competition is tight: "Hopefully, they both play well, but maybe one separates. We’ll see, I guess.” #CFL

Scott Mitchell@SUNMitchell2 mins

Once Stamps QB starter is chosen, Dickenson says he'll have some leash: "You gotta give it a chance — at least ‘games’ plural.” #CFL

Football in Calgary is back tonight. Too many good rookies to follow and of course we still have some talented veterans. A lot of competitions in this camp.

QB : Hufnagel and DD mentioned that the starting position is still up for grabs between Drew Tate and Bo Levi Mitchell. 3rd string QB is also up for grabs.

RB : Martell Mallette might be in tough to get in the starting roster. Jon Cornish, Walter, Sanders are way way ahead of him. No competition here.

OLine : LG Brander Craighead, 1st pick overall Pierre Levertu, Spencer Wilson, Brad Erdos, Peach and others are fighting for the positions left after Jon Gott and Deane(both Ottawa) and Tsoumpas(retirement).

SB : we would think Nik Lewis and Marquay McDaniel got this job no problem. Stamps moved Jeff Fuller from WR to SB position so this might be a tough battle. Canadian Brad Sinopli is also in the mix.

WR : Mo Price already have one position locked up and Joe West been injured. Watch for rookie #72 Marcus Rucker, 6'4" to try to grab at least a backup position or starter if West doesn't get healthy soon.

DLine : With DE Cordarro Law gone to the NFL, watch the battle between Bishop, Dixon and Shawn Lemon to take the other DE position opposite the Sackmaster Charleston Hughes. There are some competition in Canadian interior libeman with rookie Quinn Smith in the mix.

LB : Rookie Max Caron is getting a lot of look. I hope this kid makes it.

DB : Stamps lost a few DBs in the offseason. Derrius Brooks(NFL), Randle(trade with Wpg), Eric Fraser(Ottawa) and Butler(suspension). They signed veteran Shell, Josh Bell and Webb for help. One good competition is between #32 Ryan Steed and Buddy Jackson. Both players are turning heads on training camp.

I am really excited about this season. Looks like Stamps will make some cuts tomorrow as per league rule to trim roster by Sunday, June 15th.

For those who care about position battles and evaluating players, preseason is excellent for watching the OLine and DBs as the blocking schemes and coverages are all pretty vanilla at this point.

The new scoreboard looks great, unfortunately I can't make it tonight to see it in action

I have some tickets too but gave it away because I have other commitments. I can still watch the game on TV though.

I am definitely going to watch a lot of players here.
