It’s just one thing that feels impossible to address in the moment without completely embarrassing someone. But I have to advocate for my kid. I’m not making up rules, which I’m sure it could be taken as. I study what makes her tick 24/7… and she hates it. It’ll ruin her excitement to see people at an event within minutes. And then when we’re home I can’t even touch her without her melting down. Because she’s drained from all these entitled pricks with no self awareness.

Carry a cattle prod, and every time someone does it, you prod them. "How do you like it, eh?" Zzzzzrrtt!

Tickling them back is actually a great idea.

I think that's fine under the circumstances.

Funnily enough there is a move that can be done called a “taser” (at least that is why my kid’s call it) that is good for combatting unwanted tickling. Bend in both index fingers and dig them into the sides of the offending tickler between the pelvis and rib cage.

Or buy the kid a bbq ignitor and see what kind of fun they can have.

This isn’t just about the recent twitter verified account impersonations, but there really needs to be a ban on fonts that don’t make it clear whether someone used a lower-case L (l) or and upper-case i (I), sometimes O and 0. There have been instances where having to enter in some long passcode for a wifi or a serial number for a warranty and it’s not obvious at all.

If these events are people you know, just announce your kid doesn’t like contact right off the bat. You may want to stay clear of events where there is a large Italian contingent, or Southern European for that matter, they love kids, especially the old ones.

Also nobody my age does it. All grandparent aged. Including people she’s never met… how can you have so little self awareness? You weren’t intimidated/hate it when older people would touch you or guilt you into a hug or something when you were a child? It’s literally a trope in movies that older people pinch/kiss grandkids (unrelated “aunts” included) without consent. The entitlement is incredible. I’m going to start getting very direct about this in the moment.
I dont get people who want to touch children, they're always oozing something and inexplicably sticky.

Keep your children to yourself.

People talking on their phone while they're at the cash register purchasing something.

People forcing someone else to process their purchases instead of using the self-checkout.

I can be on my phone all I like and the machine takes no offense! Yet...but until SkyNet gets its poop in a group I can disrespect the machines as much as I like.

I love it when a convenient store clerk completely ignores them, and tends to the person next in line

Had two of these people in the self-checkout today. A third guy finished his purchase, left his bags to grab another item, then had to go through it all again.

Rather than doing the logical thing, like taking them to the back so they could be mercifully and permanently removed from society, the clerk just stood there. Letting it happen.

Then when one of the phone people finished and I walked up, they gave me a smile and mouthed sorry and I just smiled back and said ‘oh no worries’ as they walked away like the spineless shell of a man I am.

I'm a cashier, and there's not really much you can do. Yes, it's very rude. But whenever I've called someone on it, they inevitably cause a scene.

Another thing that really pisses me off is customers not making eye contact, greeting me or giving a simple 'thank you'.
