I just don't trust that any generalized CEX will be around in 5 years time. Betting on the big boys you're probably better covered, but time has shown that giving your tokens to external parties never ends well. Not to mention to use Coinbase or Wealthsimple you have to give them all your personal data and KYC info.

If you're worried about him losing the hardware, you can get a fireproof metal seed phrase backup plate on Amazon.

Well Wealthsimple you are insured up to $100K so no risk there.

Why would he be worried about his KYC and Personal data being on Wealthsimple?

It actually a really good learning experiencing everything you are suggesting - But I would start small, let him experience the dopamine rush of an asset appreciating in price, then slowly indoctrinate him to the horrors of government before trying to throw all that at him

Celsius founder Alex Mashinsky pleads guilty to fraud charges

Mashinsky, 59, was indicted on July 13, 2023, on seven counts of fraud, conspiracy and market manipulation charges. Federal prosecutors in Manhattan said he misled customers of Celsius to persuade them to invest, and artificially inflated the value of his company's proprietary crypto token. He pleaded not guilty that day.

Agree. It's cyclical, true bullruns/peaks only last about 1-2 months, then we'll see the rotation into Altcoin Season with various tokens peaking for 3-4 months following, and then a slow decent into another bear market.
