I bought a 2nd 660 Ti for SLI a while back and while it does give me a nice boost in previous gen games (PS3/360/PC versions) it feels like a waste of money of late seeing how a lot of newer games (PS4/X1/PC versions) of late have poor SLI performance. I'll probably ditch them for a single GTX 970 and upgrade to whatever GPU is out at the time when I feel the need to upgrade again in the future and spend the extra cash rather than SLI the 970.

The games off the top of my head that have poor SLI performance that have been released recently are Wolfenstein, Watch Dogs, Metro Redux and Dead Rising 3. Makes me worried for future PC versions so I'll just go GTX 970.

Yeah I've ran into at least a half-dozen in the last year alone that didn't use SLI, which is always frustrating. Really, buying one 980 is kind of a lateral move for me, but it'll be real cool to play the non-SLI games with killer FPS, and all the upcoming SLI enabled games once I buy another.

my thoughts go like this: if you are getting on the next gen bandwagon, you have two choices.

• Decide if the exclusives released on either platform differentiate for you
• Decide about 1080p and if you can actually see it. By this, i mean that you sit the appropriate distance from your screen so that you can actually see the 1080p. (I note that 1080p may not matter depending upon developers and specific games on either platform)
• Are you on one platform or the other right now especially including either PSN or xbox live? I would buy the online service out of the gate for either platform.
• Are there bundles that appeal? I'm on xbox, but if i was looking for a TV i would look at the 4k plus PS4 deal at futureshop that is on right now.

If you go with xbox one, i would evaluate the annual EA Access pass. For $30, you get at least 5 games for a year and more as they increase the vault.

I still use my 360 more than my xbox one because i have a ton of games backlogged that i still have to finish, but i watch tv through the xbox one and it is really good for me. ymmv.

For me its not about exclusives or any of this fan boy nonsense that makes people look like dbags.I'm going to buy both consoles cause I want the best of the best.I shouldn't have bought it cause I'm in school so its gonna sit in my closet till the end of October and the day after i write my TQ i will break it out.

Well you should have 30 days to return it if you change your mind. Not sure what you got it for but that $349 price hasn't changed for days now (not sure what you got your purchase for originally).

Depends on your shipping. My NHL15/Destiny preorders came a couple days late with free 2 day shipping (Prime). Would definitely recommend contacting them tonight and seeing if there's anything they can do to speed the process. Doubt they'll make it in time though.

Heaven knows there was a little confusion about the naming/actual functionality of Playstation TV but it'll be here in just a few weeks. And with some 700 games apparently.

Microsoft has cut the price of Xbox One in the UK to £329.99, making it cheaper than Sony's PS4 for the first time in the country.

The Microsoft Store is now offering the console at the cheaper price, which marks the third price cut we've seen for the new hardware in 10 months. It launched last November for £429.99, before being reduced to £349.99, which is how much a PS4 currently sets you back.

The decision isn't hugely surprising, seeing as the PlayStation 4 continues to outsell the Xbox One in the UK.

So I've finally had some time to tinker with the GTX 980 (had to wait til Tuesday evening to get it).

At stock speeds, it turns out it's around ~2% slower than 2x6804GB SLI (OCd). After some tweaking, I was able to jack up the output around 14%-15% over stock on air cooling, which makes it ~11-13% faster than 2x6804GB SLI (OCd).

Kind of a lateral move on the whole, but still welcome with the glut of non-SLI enabled games that have come out recently. Will be interesting to see how it does in SLI for me, but I'll wait a little while on it.
