McNabb has had some issues, no doubt. But what in the world has he had to work with on the field? Beyond Moss and Cooley, I cant even name another receiver of any sort. Portis gone much of the year, not a real good O-line, and the Haynesworth sideshow all contributed to where the redskins are....and none of that can be pinned on McNabb.
Im no McNabb fan nor any kind of Skin supporter, but Shanahan was paid a boatload of money to make things better and he really hasnt done much of anything. He was the one to traded for Donovan, and now he is bailing on him. Thats weaksauce to me. What a joke that whole franchise is.

It was a typical Dan Snyder hire. Throw a tonne of money at someone who has clearly reached his best before date and then wonder why things don't work out.
The unfortunate side effect of this is that Mike has submarined his own son's career. Kyle was a pretty well respected coordinator before he went to DC, but I imagine his stock has plummeted thanks in large part to his dad.

It's like people forget that the Skins were a 4-12 team last year and that was thanks to a defence that actually played pretty well. Offensively they were horrid, and their offensive personell is terrible. This year the defence has been as bad as last years offence....thats a team that should have 3 wins.

Man, I'm loving all the hype the Giants are getting AGAIN heading into a game against the Eagles. Every time they beat up on an awful team, the media starts bleating about them looking like the '07 Giants again. The Giants will face a banged up Eagles team this weekend, but if Samuel plays then the Philly probably wins.

If the Chargers win that division....they could be scary in the playoffs because that defense is really really stout right now (given up 250 yards in the last 2 games combined) and getting some injured guys back will only strengthen them moving foward...as long as they have the special teams debacle now figured out for good, I like this team to do well the rest of the way. That last loss to the Raiders though is a really weird one...so maybe they arent the juggernaut they look to be.
Its getting very clear that the GB Packers wont have Aaron Rodgers under center against the Patriots Sunday night in a game that will have their season on the line. If the Bears win and the Packers lose, the division is decided...leaving the Pack to have to finish ahead of either the Giants or the Eagles and the Bucs. Not happening in any likely scenario. (though they have the head to head against the Eagles already and still have to play the Giants leaving a small chance should either of them stumble the rest of the way) A season full of high expectations crushed by a decades worth of injuries. Sigh.
|
I feel bad for the Packers this year. No question they have a great time, but have just been hammered by unfortunate injuries. Losing Ryan Grant in the first game was a serious blow to their offense, yet they managed to pull through. Watching Clay Matthews and AJ Hawk is a treat, yet both have fell susceptible to injuries, and now they will most likely will be without Rodgers. Would much rather see them with the NFC North than the Bears

Orton's got sore ribs. I'm glad they are doing this. Orton was great the first 11 games of the season and when the team lost it was in spite of his efforts. He's been beyond brutal the last two, however. He's not the long term answer.
There's not a good reason to avoid giving Tebow some time under center. Its time to see what the kid has.
When you are drafting as high as the Broncos will be and with a new regime, you better know what you've got at the QB position.

The three teams that would make the most sense are Arizona, San Francisco, or Minnesota. All of those teams have a lot more in terms of weapons for McNabb to work with than the Skins do.

Thought this was a somewhat interesting artical on Chiefs OLD Tamba Hali. Hali spent his childhood in Liberia, and came to the US at the age of 10. He usually doesn't say anything publically but spoke with Kent Babb of the Kansas City Star.
Interesting to note:
After Hali’s first season with the Chiefs, workouts were laid back. Instead of 32 total trips down the length of the field, he says, players were maybe running eight 80-yard dashes and then calling it a day. Most players loved this environment. This was the big-time. This was living. Hali was ready to jump out of his skin.
“I was like: ‘Are you kidding?’” he says. “It was a piece of cake. … I ain’t gonna throw out names, but guys didn’t want to work.”
Hali says the Chiefs, during his first three seasons, were lazy and poorly conditioned. Coaches rarely pushed players, and there were times the team just wasn’t ready for games. Opponents, Hali says, knew the Chiefs were out of shape, and he thinks that had as much as anything to do with the team losing 26 games in 2007 and 2008.
The Vermeil and Edwards era Chiefs didn't have to work that hard.

I am prepared to release my Tebowner tomorrow!
Not like he can be any worse than Orton has been the last 2 weeks. It's unpossible.

Good luck though!

Ya, I was just gonna say the same thing. Apart from the Dallas win I see all of those games being close. I avoided those games in all my bets.
Good luck though

Looks like the Rams are going to destroy the Chiefs today. Moving the ball at will on this first series. Bradford looks good, accurate and gets rid of the ball quick.

Ugh. This is going to be one of those games. Giants fumble a punt, but the Eagles can't recover. Giants convert a third and long on a catch that should've been ruled incomplete, Andy Reid doesn't challenge it. Philly's secondary also looks unprepared.
