What I don’t like is that penalty shots used to at least simulate a breakaway where you play with speed. Now shootout is just a trick shot competition.

I believe in the Jays.

That was incredibly entertaining, what a game!

Saw a writer for the athletic a few days ago say it would have been a perfect year if the champions league just ran in the summer since spot was free for world cup.
Spread out the fixture congestion
Now it would never happen, but woulda been fun

Can only speak for myself, but I wasn't cheering for Argentina and against my French heritage for Messi to be the GOAT, it was purely so the narrative of him > Ronaldo would be cemented. Can't stand Europa Tom Brady.

Literally did the exact same thing. Went downstairs to feed baby at 75min mark, my dad texts me that France tied it up after I declared the game over.

Yeah I went out to run some family errands at 75 minutes and came back in time for the shootout. Gonna need to find time to rewatch the end lol.

Imagine being a football fan, going to run errands and missing arguably the best segment of a match in history.
That is some timing

Wanted to be home in time for NFL lol. Which, by the way, was also insane.

France had a whopping two shots at the that time I left, they were terrible until the penalty. Made a judgement call, it backfired, it happens.

Scoring Winger
|
This game was so good, so ridiculous that even though I couldn't watch after the 1st half and had to follow the second half, extra-time via multiple apps/sites to get the most up to date info, I could feel it, the roller-coaster, the gasps of delight and despair, all simply through box score updates or text updates.
Being able to watch the PK though and Messi ultimately lifting that trophy... man, what a game. Best part is, I can now go back and watch the second half and extra time again!

Hopefully the taped viewing still captures some of the emotions; definitely recommend watching it.

We know why France came back now.
The Senator Clay Davis curse is unmatched - worked on the Texans and almost Argentina today

Senator; can you go run errands during Flames games? They've been painfully boring lately.

I mean Drake bet on Argentina so they overcame that curse. I just can't do it all lol.

I also get no credit for the Texans, they are Done for Young.

???? MLS had those breakaways for their first few seasons, then conformed with the rest of the world.

Was it MLS or was it that joke of a league from the 80s? NASL or whatever.
