I like McCarthy most of the time, but I don't think anyone that dislikes her is automatically a sexist who hates large people. I'm positive that cross-section exists, but seems pretty unfair to automatically put anyone who's not a fan into those categories. Comedy takes a lot of forms and different tastes. I can see why McCarthy can grate people. She can be very Will Ferrell-esque, loud and in-your-face.
I'm sick of skipping the cold open to avoid seeing Trump portrayed as a clown instead of the vile, corrupt, narcissist he is. I shut off the show as soon as it started so I don't know if it was any good. I read they're using AI images now so maybe it's better not to watch.

I was expecting him to leave at the end of the last season, so that's not super surprising. He has been pretty scaled back so far this season, and I think he missed at least one live show (but did appear in a couple pre-taped segments) because he was busy with other stuff.

mid-season is pretty crazy. Guessing he got a film role that was coinciding with the show and called it a day.
Apparently they STILL can't miss a show to film a movie or anything, no exceptions. So even a star player like Yang in a huge film like Wicked was having to fly back and forth from London to New York. It's almost like SNL purposely pushes people out beyond a certain level. It keeps a fresh cycle but also has them losing some of the cast that keeps people tuning in.
